I had booked a room a few weeks ago at Tivoli Apartments through the Grupo Playa Sol (the owner's) website. Whoops! I read the reviews on tripadvisor.com after I made the booking, and it don't look good.
Add to that my unreplied-to e-mails sent in the past few weeks about confirming that we'd like an ocean-view room--at an upgrade price if necessary--etc., and I'm thinking that perhaps Grupo Playa Sol is not a quality owner to stay with.
I found that Apartments Tropical Garden have stellar ratings on Trip Advisor, though they look like they might be padded reviews. Also, it seems that while it may once have been independent, it appears it might now be part of GPS' Lux Mar complex.
Wow...long lead in...
Here's my question: If Tivoli is as bad as the reviews suggest, what are the chances we'll be able to find another affordable apartment? We're arriving on Wed Sep 23, and staying til Monday Sep 28. Will everything that is be all booked up for that weekend? Or is there a good chance of walking into another place and just picking up a room?
