cant help it im angry and it bugs that these people are over here, funded by us??
Ya, while you're at it, deport all the Irish, Basques, wacky American survivalists (re: Oklahoma City), Chechens, Kashmiris, Palestinians, French Algerians, and everyone else whose nationality has committed a terrorist act. We could put them on an island. Maybe Australia.

Because we all know that the many are responsible for the actions of a very small few... collective responsibility, right?

Poor reaction, jjinit, Nitefly, et. al.

we tried that, years ago, now look at it!!! It's easier to get into the Pentagon wearing a beard, dtress & sandals than it is to get into Australia

Morbyd, how would you feel if it turned out to be Russians doing this then, not saying it is, but the works of a few people shouldnt ruin the reputation of everyone else!!

I think that's his point Hayden.

JJ - I like you mate. You're an intelligent chap. I'm guessing your extremely angry at the particular people who you suspect did this and I'd agree entirely that they deserve nothing but scorn. But using generic terms for them that can only cause offence to everyone who happens to born in the same place as them (as well as most normal folk) isn't gonna help. In the words of GLC: You knows it.

Latest from my friend at Bloomberg in London:
- 5 unexploded bombs found 8O 8O 8O
- 6 metro stations, one bus and maybe a couple others (supposedly confirmed but location not identified)
- 8 confirmed dead at this point.
- request not to use emergency services unless you have to
- 1000 London police up in Scotland right now :?

I also saw on Euronews that a "rescue operation" is going on at Kings Cross. That doesn't sound good.

Hi all,

Isn't this all disgusting

I'm glad to see lots of the regular london town posters are present and correct. Hoping your family and friends are all well too ;)

Thanks Stuie, I know you're thinking of us in France ;) Hope that any friends/family you've got in London town are ok.

just found out that one of my team at work's flatmate was on the Kings Cross train.

Huge explosion, everything went black. After about 20 minutes they were instructed to walk up the tunnel. thakfully she is ok, but very traumatised. she said it looked very bad. :(

and I apologise for my "knee-jerk" comments, which do belie a usually more measured & thoughtful demeanour, however when it's happening outside your office window it's hard to not get emotional, so pardon me for being an angry and if im honest a somewhat frightened man :?

I'm really quite shocked at some of the comments about deportation and ragheads on this board...whoever it was needs to take a good look above the situation and more importantly at themselves...this is not a time for racism. 'Rag heads' (whoever they are) aren't the cause of the problem...colour has nowt to do with it.

It's not particularly funny either (if this was the intention)...this is a public message board after all.

This attitude makes me really cross.

London is a multi-cultural city and I for one hope it remains that way. The BME community is one of the main reasons I moved here in the first place.

That aside...I keep going for short walks around the city, it's calmed down a little bit now. Before there were people wandering around sobbing and covered in dust, now loads of people are ambling around looking lost & huddled around tvs in pubs (strange in London because people usually stride with purpose)...Not sure where to go - there's no one in at home and I'll want to come out again but don't really want to be wandering the streets either. :?

All train stations are shut so lord knows how everyone is going to get home. I was going to flee to Brighton but there's no way that's gonna happen.

Oh crikey. :?

Knew you weren't that silly and props for being big enough to apologies.

*Normal service resumed*

ITV are reporting that a group linked to Al Q'aida have claimed responsibility.
Can we have a sticky thread for a roll-call of those guys living/working in London? Just so's we know that everyone's alright.

*slap*

MILAN (Reuters) - A previously unknown group claimed responsibility in the name of al Qaeda for a series of blasts in London that killed at least two people and wounded 185, the Italian news agency ANSA reported on Thursday.

The "Secret Group of al Qaeda's Jihad in Europe" claimed the attack in a Web site posting and warned Italy and Denmark to withdraw their troops from Iraq and Afghanistan, ANSA said.

The claim could not be verified and did not appear on any of the Web sites normally used by al Qaeda.

"Heroic fighters of the Arab nation, it is time for revenge against the crusader and Zionist British government, in response to the massacre carried out by Great Britain in Iraq and Afghanistan," ANSA quoted the message as saying on a site it named as "el qal3ah.com".

"We command the Italian and Danish governments to pull their troops out of Iraq and Afghanistan."

Sorry... misinterpreted one of your posts earlier. Later saw that you were taking the piss out of jjinit in mambobirdette's thread ;)

Not sure how realistic this is, but a friend of mine is in the suburbs at one office and says she can't get back to the main office in W. London because the whole city is "closed off" 8O :?:
