I'm off to Vegas tomorrow for 3 days (work conference)

Can anyone advise on some cool things to do in what limited spare time there is?

Not really a gambling man so unsure what to do really

Helicopter trip to Grand Canyon, stretch hummers, bung the desk guy to get upgraded to a massive suite with a piano. If you're there on a Sunday go to the 'Wet Republic' pool party at the MGM Grand. Be prepared to spend ££££ though. Having paid $1500 dollars for a cabana (sp?) for the day our waitress still wasn't happy with her $150 tip!

Yes there's hookers everywhere, even groups of seemingly normal college girls all working, but you can spot what they are up to within the first couple of sentences they speak.

Go to Ghost Bar at the top of the Palms from a drink - great outdoor area with a view of the whole of Vegas.

During the week each big hotel has one big club night - kind of like they share it out. Jet at the Mirage, for example, is rammed on a Monday. Be prepared for Kanye overload though - very little music you'd usually go clubbing to.

Queues for popular clubs are massive and you still have a chance of getting knocked back when you get near the front. If you're likely to be mob-handed you'll need help with this - I have a fixer who'll you to and in anywhere if you need a contact.

Obviously we were on a stag do with 14 amateur footballers, but even with colleagues I'd suggest you go to O'Shea's Casino, opposite Caesars Palace, for a game of beer pong. It just never gets old.

And have a little gamble - I don't really either, but a couple of goes on your last day is fairly harmless, just so you can say you've played the tables in Vegas.

Gambling is fun, even if you don't know what you're doing you can win a fair bit if you're lucky ;)

Def go to canyon as Buckers said. Go to the top of the Stratopshere and go on the scary rides, hire a supercar for a couplle of hours and drive out into the desert ;)

The club nights are all crap now that Ice has shut but the clubs themselves are really well done :)

Take loads of mincy photo's.

Go to the gun shop and shoot stuff :)

Ask pretty much any Taxi driver or bell-boy if you need anything. Tips/bribes to people in positions to help you are the order of the day too.

I've been when it was $1.75 to the £ and $1.90 to the £ and it was expensive....god knows how much you'll have to spend to have a good time at $1.35 to the £ now :(

Indeed. For a cheaper beer head to Freemont - Old Vegas. A few casinos there doing $2 bottles of Corona

I love that end of town. Other than the big gay roof it seems more solid and real than 6000 room hotels and half size Eifel towers. Binions horseshoe, place of legends :D You can get into some proper trouble in the rough side of town, good fun ;)

There's not a lot to do if you dont like gambling, eating or drinking away your cash (and its hard to spend it all!!) and maybe getting in a hooker or two - check out the yellow pages in your hotel room- its hillarious!

We left after one night and decided to find Area 51 and ended up staying in a trailer park (actually it was a town):lol::lol::lol::lol:

I kept meaning to go to A51 too but always found myself distracted or not in a fit state.

:lol: The town (read trailer park) Rachel, was redneck territory.... we were in a lock in in the trailer park's "bar" called the ......... wait for this............ "The Little Alie Inn":lol: and it was the only time in my life I was scared to voice an opinion about any subject which ranged from

Impeach Clinton, Guns and blacks and women folk

I just wanted to leave but it was difficult... and all I could fixate on was the Automatic Rifle with a full clip on the counter which customers kept playing with during this lock in. The rifle was in the raffle - $1 a ticket or $5 for 5 tickets - PMSL at the bargain there!!!

It was quite an unusual 2 nights in the middle of nowhere basically but far more fun that Vegas....

I bet they liked both kinds of music too - Country AND Western ;)

As long as it was a white man singing who had married his sister and they still lived at home with their granpappy then your kind of there....

.......everyone wore check shirts and dungarees who were in the bar - And the owner was called Travis ....:oops::oops::lol::lol:

out of curiosity, why las vegas? isn't it just an artificial city constructed out of nothing, a testament to extreme vulgarity and decadence in the middle of the desert? a citadel for desperate hustlers, pornographers and gamblers. A sleazy monument to seedy excess and 1970s opulence. Actually, it sounds ace.

Greetings from the state of Nevada.

It's almost 4pm here and I'm about to head out.

The Virgin Atlantic stewardess took a shine to me and I left the plane with two full bottles of wine in my bag and an invite to a club night that I've now totally forgotten the name of

Probably a good thing anyway....
