Alternative ways to connect to internet

I have a laptop with a pod attached for my internet all I need is a plug to keep it alight and charged... would the internet still work if I took it abroad??

I'm from the UK
 
A Spanish one will work in different countries, It will cost you an arm, A leg, and a chicken to use it though.
Plenty of free wifi internet access in bar`s and cafe`s all over the island
