_____ PLAN BE underground club at Novum _____

Yawn. Fed up with the Ibiza pantomimes over venues, licences and politics. Those of us who want to come and enjoy decent music and unpretentious clubs are not interested in all this sh!t... or in pantomimes of political correctness. Get a grip, sort licences in a week not 6 months and stop acting like a bunch of clowns. The outside world just thinks you are pathetic when this starts up... turning the whole island into a standing joke.

On the one hand, yes.

But on the other hand, this is not the first year that the local government has tried to get people to get their licenses in order. You'd think there are enough cautionary tales out there that venue owners and promoters would get their ducks in a row before opening. That's how it is in any other municipality so there's no reason Ibiza should be different.

We're not talking about an impromptu villa party here!

Looks to me more like "doing a DC-10". I honestly can't believe that if it was a clear and timely procedure to sort a licence it wouldn't have been done by now.

In the end, I want to go to an open-air venue for a decent price with a decent sound system, non-commercial music and 'real' people that doesn't feel like a Miami pose-a-thon. If the authorities aren't happy with this sort of thing being on offer on the island, I for one am not so desperate as to be settling for a party at Ushuaia instead :(.

I hope they work out what it is they need to be licencing and get on with issuing it.

all that hype as well - like previously said, how could even make this mistake after whats happened over the last few season! they defiantly need a Plan Ce now :twisted::twisted::twisted::twisted::twisted:

I seem to remember Ushuaia operating without an appropriate licence for a full season, which was only 'regularised' afterwards ?

Can't see the problem with a few sandbags - are these supposed to be a danger to public health ? What about the danger to public sanity from bad music when SHM blasts out at unfeasible volumes from a certain "open-air space" which needs no introduction ?

Sounds like sabre-rattling to me ... to make sure a few fines get collected along the way :lol:

Ya, but Ushuaia is owned by the island's biggest fish. The rich and powerful can often get away with a bit more.

But seriously... name a place in Western Europe where you can legally rebuild a public accommodation without a building permit!

^^ it's who not what that determines how hard the axe falls - so it's no wonder prices get wound up - if there's little to gain there's little incentive to help find middle ground. Hence the Medusa of a party scene that's evolved over the last decade or so

Santa Eulalia opens two disciplinary proceedings to a disco in Ca na Palava
R.L. | 05/06/2012

The City of Santa Eulalia has initiated two disciplinary proceedings for violating
the regulations of works and activities against the establishment of leisure, Plan Be,
located in Ca na Palava.
This last Friday organized a party that lasted all afternoon and well into the night
without the necessary licenses.

Also, the Consistory has also decreed the cessation of activity in order to "ensure the safety
of persons and the respect for the law in force".
This cessation of activity will continue, as the City, "until it is determined whether it can
regulate this activity and, if so, it has all the relevant permissions."
It also prohibits the sale of any event you go to this place.

The Consistory decided to adopt these measures "after finding that on Friday held a party
on the premises without the authorization of municipal involvement in activities and
having carried out works on site have not been approved by the City and,
even they are not finished, which could endanger personnel and business users
as well as pedestrians and drivers passing through the area. "

According to the statement released by the municipal administration,
the place has a restaurant license and, despite having applied for a permit
for a coffee concert of the establishment, this is still under processing
, and in any case,
this application only affect part of the enclosure. "

Similarly, the statement continues, "the local remodeling does not have municipal approval
is pending completion, reason has also opened a record of planning discipline."
In fact, the City Council noted that last week ordered the stoppage of works
to determine the nature of the proceedings.

ps:
the venue looks very very interesting imo...
the interview also shows that the people running it have an early-years dc10 mentality...
so let's see !!

btw ...
hasn´t dc10 till today this infamous licence for "a café-concierto for a capacity of 65 people". ???

I'm surprised they would open without the right license considering how long they been planning this project. Unless they knew they would never get it

Illegal Party
The Town Hall has stopped activities at the illegal ‘Plan Be' discotheque which held its opening party last week. The premises used to house the ‘El Pato Restaurant', which then changed name to ‘Novum', and is on the road between Santa Gertrudis and San Miguel. The owners applied for a music bar licence towards the end of last year, but this has not yet been approved. Events are advertised on the internet each Tuesday and Friday, starting on the 22nd of June, but the organizers will have to change their plans if permission is not granted. The opening party last week attracted more than 1,000 revellers and commenced at 4.00 in the afternoon continuing until well gone midnight, the event also having appeared on Internet. During the evening several complaints were made by residents concerning the noise.
The Town Hall maintains that the alterations which have been made are not legal and could be dangerous, both to party-goers and passers-by. Infractions of this nature may be sanctioned with a fine of up to 60,000€, and a Town Hall representative said, “We were greatly surprised about what happened. We are not going to tolerate activities which can cause a disturbance to the local residents or people who blatantly flaunt the law”.
