Oi you - I am a sand dancer originally!!!

i've nothing against sand dancers, in fact most of my friends up there are from shields (near ocean road), the comedy value was solely due to it being a geordie porn.

when u say originally a sand dancer, does that mean you packed your bags and left at the first opportunity??

Ha Ha - no offence taken - I am from the coast too - Marsden.

I left at 20 to move to the bright lights of Newcastle....... South Shields - too incestuous for my liking - everybody knew everyone's business and to be honest - it hasnt got a lot going for it......

i was waiting for you to say that first. lol

i though sand dancer meant you were just from south shields, is it a generic term then for anyone in that area on the coast.

its true..... we had 3 nightclubs (one was for over 40's) but everyone who frequented these nightclubs ended up going out with the same guys/girls - it was like pass the parcel as there was so little talent, we had a few wine bars which were so 80's (but it was the 80's when I used to frequent it so...) we used to spend all our time drinking in the old men's pubs for cheap beer and the comedy value (as we were all Goths etc at the time) and they used to laugh at us and the banter was great) The Railway, The Voyager, The Criterion, The Marine - aaah the memories!!

Sand dancer originated in the Ocean Road area because of the amount of Arab people who came over here in the 50's but its now a generic term for all South Shields residents -

loving the ignorance of political correctness back in the english 50's.

although its hardly a glitzy place, shields very much reminded me of where i'm from, as does newcastle in a way............and the people are all the same, docks, humour wise, love of football, etc. (3 guesses where i'm from)

so thats why i've always had a soft spot for that part of the world.............always fell for ladies with 'that' accent as well.

Its actually still like that now - a lot of people still call Ocean Road, Asian Road because of the amount of Indian Restaurants - unPC is still alive and kicking in South Shields.... :? :?

So where you from then - Liverpool??

I always think its pretty much got the same level of working class humour - hence why I married a scouser!!

My parents moved to Cyprus about 9 years ago, but my sister still lives in South Shields in Westoe Village, I tend to pop over every couple of weeks for a chat or a hair cut..... I have never been for a drink in Shields for over 15 years now - wonder what its like in the bars now......

As long as there is no force involved I honestly don't see the problem with prostitution.

A free person is exactly that - free.

Free to choose whatever they want to do with their life.

Us humans are so caught up on blaming our destiny on someone or something else.

Where every person is today is (in literally all cases) a result of choices made by themselves.

There is no way around that.

yeah liverpool (well over the water), agree about the sense of humour.

went for a curry on ocean road on a sunday night after a massive beano at shindig (great club - would love to go again) in the middle of november. nobody was in there other than us, not sure how i had the apetite to eat a curry after ......*coughs suspiciously*..........after......., after well a night at shindig, enough said. remember a rather unsavoury (excuse the pun) incident with that most disgusting of beverages - kingfisher indian lager.

last time there was between xmas and new year in 200, that was 5 years ago!!! oh my god i can remember it like yesterday   :D :D

Digital is a club up by Central Station - used to be the Powerhouse (gayclub in the gay village at Times Square) Shindig moved from Foundation/Riverside as its all residential round there now. Digital is fab - Funktion One sound system which is just awesome, club set up is great, huuuge bar area, separate dancefloor/club upstairs. The bar next door to Digital turns into a chillout bar for the club which you enter through the club - opens at around 12.30 - so masses of room when you need a chill and a sit down.

Yeah - give me a nudge when you are planning to pop oop north... 8)

(although doing a sunglasses smiley for "oop north" is probably false advertising there..... )

When Newcastle played some European team years back (might have been somewhere like Budapest), my mates all went over to support their team..... after a drunken day one of the guys picked up a prostitute and she took him back to her house. On arriving he walked straight into a living room with her parents sitting there, gestured for him to sit down and walked into another room, about 5 mins later she came out with her grandparents in their nightie/pj's and beckoned him to follow her into the bedroom and into the warm bed her grandparents had just vacated 8O 8O 8O

Cost him £3.75 - he gave her the equivalent of £5 and had the audacity to wait for his change... 8O 8O 8O 8O

It pains me to see europeans exhibiting such primitive behavior.

I think people should be allowed to have sex for free. Sad to think that some people are so ugly they have to pay for it.
