35 yr old male travelling alone clubbing?

Hi guys, I recently split from a long marriage, and spur of the moment booked a holiday to Ibiza. I have always wanted to go to Ibiza, love my late 90's early 00's dance music. Always just imagine myself on the dance floor enjoying the music. But the closer the holiday gets, the more I am wondering if it was a good idea.... Am I too old for Ibiza? I ain't in the best shape either, am I going to be surrounded by six packs and going to look out of place?? I have booked a nice quietish hotel, as I didn't want to have 24 hour partying, def too old for that lol. It is in San Antonio, so still close enough for the clubs. Just never been on holiday myself before, and certainly never been clubbing myself before. But thought, hey, nobody knows who I am so f*** it, if I look weird I look weird
 
If there's anywhere to go on holiday alone Ibiza is a great place!
It's really easy to meet people in San Antonio and you'll find lots of people travelling there solo.
I'm a fat bastard to never stopped me having fun or meeting folk, even the self obsessed with pecs and 6 packs can be nice people under the 'look' they show off.

Cheers Ollie, that sounds good. Feel a bit better now about going. Haha.... Won't just plant myself in the hotel for a week. I'll get out and get some clubbing done ☺️
 
There's a meeting up board on here to that you could try to arrange meet ups before you get there?
I've met a few off here, randomly someone came up to me once said they recognised my pic from the avatar and came to say hello, was a bit freaky :lol:

Sounds good, might pop over to that thread. The thing is, when I go to a big club, I normally end up myself anyway on the dance floor with my hands in the air, lol!! So suppose can't be that bad there. Going there a week tomorrow, can't wait now.
 
So is Cream @ Amnesia good for my kind of dance music? Basically, Kevin & Perry Go Large soundtrack is the dance music I am into. I was clubbing when all those tunes were out in late 90's early 00's. Seems quite a few good DJs playing there on the date I will be there
 
It's not as much of that as it used to be but it's still a brilliant night, albeit a very busy one!

If the Dj's you like are there then i'm sure your more than enjoy it, I've had some amazing nights there! Even did the closing a few years back on my own as my mates couldn't get in..... Didnt regret going alone at all, was amazing being able to just do what I wanted to do.
 
35 is not too old for clubbing by a long way. I'm 38 and have my 20th trip to the island booked for September and i'm travelling alone and looking forward to it as always, get out there and amongst it!

I normally end up losing everybody i've gone to club with anyway! You'll make new friends no problem.

Music wise, there wont be many places playing late 90's trance, in the west end there is Tropi bar on the left as you go up the hill which is tiny but always good trance in there. Retro at the new club alter in San Antonio bay will play older stuff.

I'm 46 mate and go every year, at least twice, and usually one of those times is solo - don't worry in the slightest!

Yeah just to add to all this- do not worry, you are doing the right thing! I'm 38 and have been going solo for a few years- like you was spurred into doing so by having had a shit period of time in my life. As scary as it is the first time, the island will absolutely help you heal. As well as the clubbing you want to do, my advice would be get a scooter/quad/car and see some of the island. Head to the north and just explore- you cant get lost as the island is so small. Best of luck but I know you wont need it!
 
Wow, just seen all these replies, thanks a lot for taking the time to reply, and making me feel better that this is something that many seem to do, and also older than me, hehe! Sounds like a good mix of people in the island. Maybe make this a yearly thing :) maybe give me the motivation to get back to the gym and go back next year a bit more in shape....

I am going from 27th July to 3rd August. I have just found out my hotel is next door to Es Paradis Club..... That any good? :p and thanks for the advice about where to go. Really cannot wait now :)

Sorry to hear that Hope you also have a good time and just enjoy time away... I was just desperate to get away from everything, Ibiza sounds like a good place to do it
 
Avoid the clubs in San An. grab a car or disco bus to Amnesia or Space for that super club experience. Amnesia for Cream, won't necessarily be the classics but 2 different rooms of accessible music.

Space potentially Sunday or Tuesday for Carl Cox. My favourite club for exploring and very social up on the roof in 'El Salon'
