Thank you for the informative responses!
My skin did begin to itch a little after 7 days of solid sunbathing - the sunscreen I was using by the gallon had great time release vitamins and moisturizers in it so it wasn't so bad. A little Nivea after sun lotion that I bought in PDB helped keep me even more moisturized and took the itching away. If I had been using a cheaper sunscreen I know it would have been worse. I took to renting an umbrella for a few euro the last few days; I just couldn't stay away, given that the sun here in NY is crap year round.
If you use sunscreen would you be able to tan in the tanning bed? The technology seems more dangerous than just sitting in the sun.
