OK, so Yoko Ono opened an exhibition in Moscow this week. Maybe a better word would be "installation". It's called "A Cockroach's Odyssey"... some sort of anti-war statement with photos and objects. To be honest, I didn't quite "get" it...
My co-worker got an invitation to the exhibit opening last night but couldn't go, so Irina & I went and got to see Ms. John Lennon up close and view her exhibit. Whenever we're in London, random people will call Irina "Yoko". We've never been quite sure how to take this... Is it racist?
There are obvious differences between a Japanese woman and a Kazakh/Tatar woman... but there might be a bit of similarity between them (very vague...).
Interestingly, as Yoko walked by Irina last night, Yoko stopped and took a long look at her
Aside from that, Irina got a couple of pretty decent photos.
So tonight, while Irina was busy with photography class, I attended a reception in Yoko's honor. As she walked by at one point, this conversation occurred:
Morbyd: Hello
Yoko: Hi
Morbyd: Welcome to Moscow
Yoko: Thank you.

Ah, those random brushes with fame
Still, I found it pretty cool
