OK folks, 2 queries for you:

- Do you know any good pubs within walking distance of Wembley? Preferably between the Wembley Central tube station and the stadium.

- Anyone know any good specialist photography stores?

I take it you're not familiar with Wembley  There is nowhere worth drinking around there, plus you won't get into a lot of the pubs on FA Cup Final day unless you're planning on getting there at 11am - best thing to do is get some beers and sit outside and then walk down Wembley Way to soak up the atmosphere.

They knocked the old Wembley down right around the time I started traveling to London regularly so, no, haven't been to that part of town! (aside from just driving through it)

We've got to meet up with some people so we kind of need good pub location... I think we'll head up that way around noon so hopefully we could still get in somewhere...

Thanks for the advice... I was looking at the tube route with the fewest transfers. Now that I study it further, if I go District-Circle-Metropolitan it's 2 changes but still much fewer stops than District-Bakerloo.

the area around wembley is great. it is steeped in history with rows of bric-a-bric stores, oldy worldy pubs, bustling and vivacious eateries and a carnival like atmosphere amongst the terraced streets.

8O 8O

don't use your normal logic of how the tube works for going to wembley.

I gladly would! Only the people we need to meet up with are a bit older and I think they're past that beer-on-the-street phase.

what's age got to do with it??

what difference does it make if you buy a pint/bottle/can of red stripe in a pub then go and sit on a wall outside and drink it compared to buying it in an offy and doing the same.

good luck finding a wine bar with plentiful seating then8O

Biggest Fact since records began.

The view as you'll come out of Wembley station, and the subsequent walk down Wembley way, on cup final day will be utterly priceless.
:D

Wine bar?

Not hardly what I'm looking for, but I'll tell Nigel and Richard you suggested it. They'll have a laugh

Though I suppose the ladies might fancy it :?

I'm not saying we'd be in the pub right up to kick off... just need a) a specific place to meet and b) somewhere to get those first couple of rounds in before heading out into the street.

Ben has practically got us arriving at the cafe at dawn to then get to Wembley to soak up the atmosphere "early". At this rate I'll be there at 8a.m. :spank:

Do it do it do it!

It's only dawning on me how immensely jealous I am of you both!
