Worst part of my holiday

Came back just under a week ago, one of our last nights my boyfriend and I were going to have a "quiet" one in the west end. However, we got free wristbands for Eden so decided we might as well have a stroll down and have a drink in there (stupidly as they're completely overpriced ;)). Dom went to the toilet so I sat outside waiting for him, a black guy came and sat down next to me, while three of his friends stod back. He started talking to me and asked if I wanted to go back to his hotel, I just laughed it off and he offered me a cigarette. As you do I took the cigarette not thinking anything of it, I started to smoke it and half way through the filter fell off, I looked at the guy as to say "what the ****!" and he offered me another one. At this point Dom came walking out of the toilet and I ran over to him. He was oblivious to what had just happend and when I tried to explain to him that the guy was asking me back to the hotel, he approached the guy. I don't remember what happened after that but Dom told me we got escorted out of the club as I couldn't even stand up. Next thing I remember is being sat outside and Dom talking to one of the bouncers. He asked me to point out the guy out but I had no clue and ddin't want to go back to the club. I don't really remember much of the night but the bouncer told us that these guys take the tabaco out of their cigarettes soak them in a substance and repack them. Obviously I was quite naive and it taught me a very good lesson. Who would've thought something as harmless as a free cigarette :p. I suppose I'm lucky that I had Dom with me and I didn't smoke the whole thing, I hate to think many girls are fooled by this every night! However, as Dom told me, the bouncer said it's too hard to pick out the guys that do this as giving someone a cigarette is just a normal thing! Anyway just beware ! I wouldn't ever want that to happen again, it did completely ruin our last night out!

I've heard of cigarettes being dipped in GHB- the date rape drug.

You seem pretty naive, after being aske'd to go back to a hotel room by someone, you "laugh it off" then accept a cig while his three mate's stand by looking on....:o

Just A Guy

"Dom went to the toilet so I sat outside waiting for him, a black guy came and sat down next to me, while three of his friends stod back. "

How come he couldn't just be " a guy" instead of "a black guy?" Just wondering...it doesn't seem race had much to do with it. I feel bad for you and personally if I got a bad vibe from him I wouldn't have accepted the cigarette. Thank goodness your bf was there!

to be honest troops, the girl has posted this to try and warn other people.

i think its a bit harsh you are jumping on her over a race issue.

for me, his skin colour was essential. anyway, she could be black herself.

lesson here: don't go to eden.

glad you are ok.

normally i'd back this up with great gusto but i had the best night of my week there last week (!!!)

still cannae believe i'm saying that but its true

you get shady cnuts in every club, in every town, in every country (sadly)

just heed her warning girls (and boys)

which night? i never went there this year but always loved garlands in the past... i'm just being a bit of a twat really.

well for starters, the club itself is completely different. the lovebox was ****ing ace. we went along on the off chance it would be alright and cause we were g-listed (number one rule of being on the guestlist, you must tell everyone you meet that night that you are ON THE GUESTLIST) so figured, **** it, no cost, might be a good cheap way to kill a few hours and andy cato and silicone soul were playing so at least i knew they'd deliver. i ended up getting completely and utterly smashed all day and all night and had one of the best nights in ibiza out of the 6 times i've been.

but yeah, back to the topic, don't accept cigs from strangers peeps.

can't believe out of all this story...the lesson is "don't go to Eden". Completely agree with Phil.

I am abit fed up of the the snobbery on here with regard to Eden. I have hand on heart had some of my best nights on the Island in Eden. I agree that it generally attracts more of the chav crowd than most of the other "big" clubs do but ive encountered them everywhere. .. you just have to pick your nights carefully.

I think its out of order to imply that something like the incident described could only happen "cos it was Eden".

i was joking.

'i'm just being a bit of a twat really' should have given the game away. what is it with the uptight f*ckers on this board?

i bet nobody would have even mentioned it if she'd have said a white guy

course not. i bet nothing would have been said if one of the 'yeh, ibiza 96, man. real raves, man' gang had said it either. who am i to judge though.

Awful story, next time avoid San Antonio. Also very sad for the perps too. I mean if you can't pull a bird in Eden (should you want to) ....c'mon!! For all the risk they took and cost they went to how very, very, pathetic!

It's not just the girls that need to be careful !

It would be unfair to say this only happens in Ibiza as you hear reports from all over the world about this sort of thing. For the most part the island is safe. However, i would like to relay a couple of things. A few years ago one of my mates was making his way home from a San An club on his own ( approx 5am ) when a car pulled up along side him, inside were 3 guys ( Spanish or Italian, he wasnt sure ) who asked him what he was up to, did he need anything and did he want to go to a party with them? When he said no thanks they became more aggresive and told him to get in the car, at this point one of them started to get out so my mate just legged it. They didnt give chase but who knows what they were up to? Could have been seen as easy pickings for a robbery or something altogether more sinister. Just take care when your defences' are down and when you are in a happy chatty mood!
The other "odd" thing happened to me this year, I was making my way back from playing an evening set at Sun Sea Bar, walking up C Cervantes pulling my CD trolly behind me, they was absolutely no one around when a car slowly pulled up alond side me, there was a female driver, very attractive probably late 30's, the window was wound down and she asked " do you need a lift anywhere?", i thought initially she was a taxi driver but I have never known taxi's to pull up and offer lifts, I wasn't going far but even so I said "no i'm fine thanks". She just smiled and said "okay, have a nice evening" and then slowly drove off down the road. As the car pulled away there were no taxi plates or markings on it and the Ibiza taxi's as everyone knows are all registered and are white in colour, this was quite a battered old wreck. Now call me suspicious but there is something odd there, lone women do not stop and pick up guys late at night, particularly if that person has not indicated they would like a lift. I have tried to work out whether it was either an unregistered taxi, a random woman out for fun, a prostitute touting for business or maybe even a "honey trap"! who knows where i would have ended up if i had accepted a lift ???
I guess the advice here is whether you are male or female, take care and keep your wits about you, you are under no obligation to talk to anyone you don't want to, unfortunately there are a very small amount of people out there determined to take advantage of people particularly if they are under the influence of disco drinks ( : -)

Sounds like illegal taxi mate!

I wouldv'e jumped in if it was a fit female, even if I only had a 5 minute walk!
