Winter is here :-(

Well, it has truly begun. We managed to avoid wintery weather during uncharacteristically warm October and November. Only a couple of light snowfalls in Nov. and Dec., which immediately melted (turning Moscow into a disgustingly dirty puddle of slush and sludge  ) The temperature rarely fell much below zero... in fact, most of the time the weather's been the same as the rest of Europe.

But today it's snowing and it looks like it's here to stay. -6 C right now.

Anyone want to trade places?

Just be happy you're not in Novosibirsk ;)
I've been to another city not far from there

I've also been in parts of Siberia further north. Standing in tundra at -30C with the winds chapping your ears. FUN!

Are you kidding me? Two days ago, it was -24C and with the windchill, it was -30C. Today it is +8C... go figure this city. By the middle of next week, back down to -17C. Enjoy your -6C... geez

The States have been going through a deep freeze as well. It got to -17C out here in Colorado two days ago, with the sun out 8O . It was so cold, you could hardly take a breath. It's supposed to get to 5C today, so its getting better.

thats right Canadakid.. Edmonton has the most retarded weather of anywhere .. two weeks ago at the end of november it was 19 degrees, and a couple of days ago was minus 30, today its 8 above

where else has a 50 degree temperature fluctuation in two weeks!

I hate winter!!!! :( :( :(

Tell me about it. Only place I know that can be up to +35C in the summer and -42C in the winter...

not only that, we can have a 30 degree temperature change within 24 hours..

why on earth anyone ever settled here is beyond me..( and the fact there is no nightlife.. but leave that for another thread.. ha ha!)

That's why I'm hoping to move to Vancouver for school next year and why I'm counting down the days til my trip back to Ibiza next year. 194 days now!

yeah at least you'll get better weather in Vancouver... don't know about the nightlife there though.. its a bit too birkenstock for me!
