Why is it...

non-clubbing people are so hard to get out/pursuade to goto one of "our kinda nights"?

yet, mention "cheesy 80's music" and theyre 1st on the bus???

Discuss.!

Cause they think they'll hate the boring 'boom boom' music we listen to, entrance fee's cost too much, the DJ's only a person who plays other peoples records, everyone will be chewing there face off cause their all druggies....

..thats the reaction I get

  ;)

hahahahhaa. ive tried to get my best mate to passion for 4 yrs and she keeps coming up with te same excuses.....just f***ing say u dont want to go.

Oh, and another excuse I get:

'Nah, just gonna go to (insert local cheesy club here) tonight, girls are drunk and much easier to pull. You can't pull at them dance places you go to'

i always seem to convert someone though, all my mates did cheesy clubs but almost fully converted them to proper music and clubs :P

means - "i lack the social skills to chat to a girl properly, and them being drunk makes me seem a whole lot more glamorous than i really am!"

money is another excuse - in total, yr gonna spend the same amount in either place! :?

Very true bout the girls. Don't see why they think it's difficult anyway...nearly everyone is on something that makes you very 'loved up'

I usually get the money one to. Don't they know that going out on the piss can cost alot more :?:

Liek Nitefly said though, I've managed to convert about 90% of my mates. Even though they dont come out as much as me, they still really enjoy it. They're all mainly too scared about 'over-indulging' too often

why dya want them to go anyway?

all they will do is stand around/look bored/be too drunk/piss off girls who are just there to dance

etc. etc.

:P

piss off girls who are just there to dance

What..............you mean these dancing girls are not simply doing those moves to entice us to pick them at the end of the night........now I know where i've been going wrong ;)

Sorry Chewie,

But I'm sure you have same attitude when your mates try to convince you to go to a place you don't like.

I remember way back taking some guys from work to see Jeremy Healey - (something not too hard core for them). It was under sufferance but as I had attended several cheesy nightclubs with them over the past few months they had to come along as it was only fair.

They had slowly, but under duress, started to get into the night and then Jezza dropped The Power of Love and the whole place went mad, we were standing around at this point deciding where to go after the club and I turned round to see where the boys were and I couldnt believe it, they were down the front hands in the air singing along with the look on their faces that just said "f**king hell!! I get it!!" it was the cutest thing..... I had tears in my eyes and became quite emotional for them......

Quite a moment...... :D

It's one of my favourite things ever when someone new to the whole thing suddenly 'get's it'. Out of our little (reasonably new to modern clubbing) group one by one it's hit, including one girl's in DC10, which was special.

Ahhhhh @ PL's story!! :P

Ahhhhh @ Gingers story too but I wonder how she got to DC10 if she didnt get it beforehand!

I have a friend who always wanted to come with us but didn't get it and didnt enjoy it at all, the last time was at Bagleys (RIP  ) when he was sitting outside by 4 and waited for us there!!

You just can't train some people! ;)

Hee hee - I felt like a proud mum !! (now you know why its imperative that I dont procreate!  )

err nope.

difference is, i tell em the truth to why i aint going.

i "pretend" to say ill go, and then dont go!

if i cant go, its for a good reason, whether they like it or not!

saying you'll goto a night with about 3 weeks notice only to be told "im skint", and then finding out they spent that night out on the razz anyway pi$$es me off no end!

therefore, i ask once now, and if they go great, if not, not bothered in the slightest, cos its their loss! :P

What can I say? She's an open-minded girl who did Homelands, Creamfields and Space before that, and then suddenly - bang! - it all made sense!

I may be able to give a small insight into this...
My flat mates are into sh!tty Euphoria & Ministry compilations and are also really big fans of Mcfly (I had to ask my Mum and Dad who they were ) & Girls Aloud etc.
They're big drinkers and smoke like chimneys & still think it's accpectable to be REALLY anti drugs. The mere mention of 'E' gets them going into a big rant.
I get the feeling they don't really 'feel' music and dancing ain't their thing.
...but having said all that, they're sound as couple of pounds.

I'm just not looking forward to our first flat mate bonding session - rumour has it that I'm going to have to bite the bullet and brave the astoria on charing cross rd - eeeek. I'm thinking of taking my ipod along for company.

"Baby you're all that I waaaaaaaaant, when you're lying here in my aaaaaaaaarms...blahdey blah" - urgh, urgh and urgh!
