Which resort? Santa Eulalia, Playa den bossa or the Bay?

it affects people's choices because we're all different, in exactly the same way pdb was never popular amongst the brits because it was full of germans. irrational it may be but that's how we are. i took brits abroad from your vocabulary barbie, ba's you call them to illustrate the point

ba's are negative for you but possibly not someone else.

I agree completely, my post was asking for clarification what was so bad about staying where there is a slightly higher than average gay holidaying population.

It's like I say I wouldn't want to stay in San An cos I'm too old to be around 18 year old pi$$ed BAs running up and down the West End on the pull

woody didn't say the presence of our gay friends was bad (or good) just that there are lots in that area. i think if i was taking my wife and family i'd like to know that sort of info..................equally so if i was thinking of booking my loved ones into the jet appartments.

I implied that the 'but' in his post was a negative thing which is why I enquired why cos I wondered if he'd had bad experiences staying in Figuretes cos of the gays. I was just interested as I've stayed in that area many times and I really like it and it feels safe to me.

barbie,

you are such a sh!t stirrer. woody was jsut offerign some warts and all advice, the kind most people would want to take into consideration when choosing a resort.

 I'm not been a $hit stirrer, I was genuinely asking what was wrong with Figuretes from his point of view

he didn't say anything was wrong with fig.

He said it's a nice promenade but lots of gays (or words to that effect). And 'but' to me implies a negative and I wondered what he had found negative about the gays in Figuretes cos in my worthless opinion I've always found it a nice resort, plenty for everyone and safe.

Ok.

where 2 stay

dont stay in Santa E as its too far out and you'll spend most of your holiday trying to get cabs, which generally aren't in that area anyway......
PDB is a bit crappy.............Barbie is right with Figeurettas........you can walk to Ibiza town and then get cabs/buses to San An/PDB

Ok.

he said this "Figuretes is really nice prom.but also a lot of gays"

but does not have to imply a negative.

for example, "ibiza town is a small municipality but has a vibrant ambience by day and night". now arew you telling me that i'm saying the latter is negative. no you're wrong. get off your pc high horse.

Oh shut up, just cos I rebuffed your texts like night

If Woodruffe wasn't implying anything negative about Figuretes then I apologise to him for misintepreting his posts :D

Actually in this case it does. It implies gays are not nice.

for example, "ibiza town is a small municipality but has a vibrant ambience by day and night". now arew you telling me that i'm saying the latter is negative.
No, but the latter is an example of something contrary to the possible expectations someone might have of the former.

The conjunctive but by its definition puts words or concepts in opposition.

Hello!

:D:D

I'm all in favour of a wind up but please do so in a grammatically correct fashion. This is your first warning.

I do think that that "BUT" implies negativeness, but considering I spent half of my time lost in translation my opinion may be useless
