Which country makes the best beer?

I'm inclined to say that the Czech Republic make the tastiest beer, but my favourite is actually Asahi Super Dry, made in Japan...

Aussie beer is nice, but nobody drinks fosters or xxxx.. it's all about the Cascade and Hahn Premium Lager. I drank Victoria Bitter as a student but can't stand it anymore!

I like all type of beers unless there aromatic.

In Prague I had a very nice black beer in a place called U Fleku, we went about 4 times in our trip.

There's this bar in Rio called Belgian Beer Paradise. They sell over 80 types of different beers produced mostly in Belgium, they're amazing! Tripel Karmeliet is my favourite, but I also like Maredsous, Chimay (all of them) ...

You laugh, but there are actually some really, really good small breweries around the States. They usually only distribute locally and don't mass produce on a level of Budweiser or Miller. They certainly don't export, so you've probably never heard of them.

If you're ever in the States, I recommend trying these brands:

Harpoon (Boston) - They make a great IPA
Red Hook (Seattle) - Thier ESB is divine
Shiner (Texas) - Shiner Bock is a cult classic
Old Dominion (Virginia) - Make a very crisp, light pale ale
Foggy Bottom (Washington, DC) - have a good, flavorful ale
Shipyard (Maine) - One of my staples in university
Wild Goose (Maryland) - Great seasonal ale but all their beers are good.

You reminded me of my college days at UT Austin. Every couple of weeks I used to arrange a BEvERage Bust for my fellow students, which was an ice breaker for the students in my department. We used to get a keg or two of Shiner every time. By the way, when I moved to CA in 2000, it was not that easy to find Shiner, but these days it is far easier.

I like Pilsners so my favs are Warsteiner, Bitburger, Urquel and Stella.

I had another Belgian beer that tasted kinda like Cherry Coke. It was really good. I just do not remember the name.
