which club night is best for house music?

Open Lab at Heart with Robert Miles could be worth looking into too, I really liked the venue and the night we went to (Acid Sundays) was decent enough and done us fine for our first night.

Dance 88/89 at Sankeys would be another worth checking out, can't go wrong with a bit of Graeme Park and Alfredo if it's good ol house music and balearic beats you're after.

Shame it's the 22nd you leave, Clockwork Orange probably would have fitted the bill for you also.

I don't know which would be considered "the best beach bar" but we went to Destino this year which is the Pacha resort/hotel, we made a day/night of it and had an ace chilled day with food & drinks followed by the Guy Gerber party at night. Luciano & Friends is happening on the 21st July, Destino is a really nice spot and the crowd on the night we were there was a really nice crowd too, I'd highly recommend the Luciano gig here.

If you fancied doing the day there the prices are 30 for a single, 60 for a double and 80 for the circular sunbed. There is a minimum spend of 60 per person, all in it cost us 420 (210 each), that would also allow you to stay on for the Luciano gig which is 40 per ticket. Any questions feel free to ask.

Cheers for that. Have you got any ideas for decent house music evening time. I was thinking dc10 cirloco on mon or cox at space on tue but i think it may be to much techno from what ive seen on you tube. I could be wrong though.
Any ideas.........??

Just read yr last comment. I agree,was looking at clockwork but im away home on the fri.
Dance 88 89 looks ok as long as its not just early acid all night.
Going with my wife whos new to all this ibiza clubbing.

Yeah I'd agree that music wise it's probably not what you are looking for, especially with the missus in tow. DC10 gets stupid packed and possibly another reason why it could be a no go. Carl Cox, he does bang it out but I also find that Carl is a bit of a 'dude' and does/can have a bit of fun and a boogey behind the decks while chucking in some non techno stuff, it will be predominantly techno though. Keep in mind too that Space has multiple rooms and chances are you might find something that suits both of you, El Salon for example.

I doubt very much that Parky or Alfredo will play early Acid for all of their sets, wouldn't want to 100% commit to my comment though given the '88 / 89' name of the event and given that I haven't been to that gig either.

I honestly reckon Destino for Luciano would be a good spot with good vibes for you and the wife, ends at midnight which gives the option to move on elsewhere.

Someone mentioned shelter on the tue at sankeys any experience of that? Or pacha on the wed martin solvieg 'my house'.
Im gona try blue at ushuaia it does advertise as house music so dont suppose ill go to far wrong with that, unless destino is better....??
As we are only there 4 nights i just want to make sure i go to the right places playing the right music.
I suppose im a bit of a retro house music fan but i also like newer stuff. Just can't be arsed with trance or techno!
 
I preferred Destino as a venue and for the crowd / clientele, that's not to say that I dislike Ushuaia now and wouldn't go back, although I would only go there for Ants. I'm the same age as you by the way and would have probably been listening to the same dj's / music / aware of same UK club nights 'back in the day'.

I suppose with it being your wifes first time you probably want to let her see what the clubs are like i.e Space, Pacha etc. Pacha is a good spot and with it having different rooms and the outdoor terrace, also makes for a good option. The Martin Solveig gig could be the better choice for you both, maybe others on here could comment as I don't have personal experience with this event or his dj sets.

Haven't been to Shelter at Sankeys, can't help with that one.

I caught Martin Solveig with Tchami and Kaskade at Pacha last summer. I thought the music was great -- more house than techno for sure -- and there was a good crowd. However, the place was ridiculously packed -- getting to the bar was almost futile, and people were pressed against me for much of the night. It's the only night out I've had in Ibiza that left me not wanting to go back because of the crowding.

Weve been for the last 2 years for 3 nights but stuck around bossa, only been to ants at ushuaia and had a look in space but couldnt really remember much of space as i was pretty drunk!
Im tempted with destino just wish it wasnt on the thur as it clashes with ushuaia and i know the misus enjoyed that last yr so she would prob want to go back.

Good to know yr the same age, all in looking for is some good house tunes.

What a dielema.....!

All im after are decent house tunes. Only there mon to fri so just want to go to the right places through out the day and take in a club possibly twicw while we are there.

Being age 43 cant ve bothered with trance or to much techno.
Problem ive got is theres alot of choice but not a great deal of info on what type of music will be played.

Apologies, I assumed it was her first time when you mentioned "Going with my wife whos new to all this ibiza clubbing". If she enjoyed Ushuaia I'd probably play the safe route and go back there, have a snoop on the Destino website and youtube search for Destino Ibiza, plenty vids on there for you both to have a look at, let her decide what she might prefer, lets you off the hook that way ;)

is martin solveig cheesy shite these days (alla bob sinclar) OR does he ever play good house? - he made some ace tunes in the early 2000s (madan, i'm a good man etc) but I kinda sense he followed the $ thereafter...
 
Just catching up on this thread, Some of the nights mentioned are great but with your dates being Monday to Friday may rule out a few.

For Monday to Friday I'd recommend the following ;
Monday - redlight/the shelter @ sankeys
Tuesday - you should check out space, with it being the last year I think every week is going to be something special going on here!!
Wednesday - Martin Solveig @Pacha
Thursday - Luciano @ destino (plus you can go there late afternoon and get a good bed/space), I'm doing that this year and then following this up by heading to smooth grooves @ vista club (privilege) my friend is yet to experience a sunrise here and we thought this would tick the box for that!
Friday - not sure if you head home on the Friday or this is your last night but plenty of choice, glitterbox at space is typical Defected type house or I'd highly recommend Insane @ Pacha

Do you know if space on tue is similar music in all rooms? Bit concerned it maybe all banging techno.

I like the idea of destino late afternoon. Dont know much about luciano or martin solveig at pacha.
Suppose i won't know until i try.
 
yes exactly - so much brilliant french filter house 1995-2004 that whole TOUCH scene was ace - but most of them went cheese in the end, earning a killing playing crap to divs. why not eh?
