I am after some ideas of best way to do the trip to ibiza this year. I have been to the island 6 times and only stayed in the San Antonio area but was looking to stay in playa den bossa this year. the previous years i have been i have mainly just stayed down the front around ibiza rocks bar, ocean beach, mambo etc not as many people out looking for trouble i found down that way.
My girlfriend wants to come this year so i am not sure whether we spend the 10days in playa den bossa or spend some days at San Antonio first to let her see that area. Do you think its worth the hassle of doing both areas or does anyone recommend staying somewhere else? i prefer to chill out and dance in down at the beach bars during day then just hit one of the big clubs at night.

Thanks guys, i did also look at places there as you said its a short walk to ibiza town and PDB. She isnt missing anything if i dont take her to san antonio plus suits me as i dont particularly like going there anymore, must be an age thing now :)

If it was my first time in Ibiza I wouldn't want to stay in figueretas - I would want to stay in Playa Den Bossa, more towards the far end (toward Salinas end). Especially if she is a sunseeker who enjoys people watching like myself. You can travel to San Antonio cheaply enough.

thanks for your input joni.x , we are going to sit down and have a look tonight at our options and what she wants to do. She not one for lying around, gets to bored but she will sit outside a bar and people watch. haha. Hopefully get something book tonight :). the good thing is everything is close by and transport is pretty decent to get around

If you are wanting to stay in San An then there is a nice hotel just around the corner from Mambo's - Blau Parc it's called. Pretty much a family / couples hotel.

I'd go for Figueretas too.

As mentioned above, its relatively cheap, away from the madness of PDB (but close enough that you can walk or get a cheap taxi either into PDB or Ibiza Town). The only thing is if you are getting a car, parking is a bit of a mission unless you don't mind trooping up and down the hill which is the only bit I found where I could park.

That said I would recommend getting a car, at least for a few days, as there are so many amazing places to go visit round the island that you probably wouldn't get to otherwise.

Also if you are in Figueretas you can get an inexpensive boat over to Formentera (see aquabus or ulises cat). Why not spend a couple of nights over there? Well worth it.

nice one thanks for that. some good options there. Still trying to get my mrs to make a decision but will be figueretas or PDB, we arent bothering with San An which i am glad she isnt bothered about going there :)

^^ es vive neighborhood, not es vive hotel

for some reason some people keep calling that area figueretas... it's called es vivé or es viver!

nice in Figueretas but a bit rough when you see locals hanging around and drunks.go for pdb.its only a short walk nice at night to get to Figueretas.and see the stalls on the prom.get a bus to ibizatown or taxi or again walk it.and go for a hotel a/i...

The first time I stayed in Es Vive (the area) it was described by the people who sold it to me as Playa d'en Bossa.
The location was at what is now Ryans....and I think some agents still describe it so. #gullibleclones

C'mon 'Es Vive' neighbourhood is a street or 2 away from Figueretas
Not a clue matey, not a clue...
