People who don't really understand or appreciate the type of music we like seem to think that going out clubbing is just part of some sort of vacuous superficial party lifestyle. Why is this? Why is going out to clubs to see either up and coming DJs or your favourite superstar DJs any different from going to see bands play gigs? I mean nobody ever
says: "you're 29 years of age, don't you think you're too old to go to that
Green Day/Rolling Stones etc concert?" Hypocrisy! People who aren't into the scene just don't get it!
To be honest though, I wouldn't have thought that even people that don't understand or like clubbing would consider 25 yo to be too old!!!! You're so young mate, you have years ahead of you! My clubbing mates range from youngest 19 to eldest 35 with me roughly in the middle.
As long as you like the music, that's the main thing as far as I'm concerned. Like you I got into clubbing later on in life than I should have (damn those wasted nights going out to crap bars!). Although I'd been clubbing for a while, last year (at the grand old age of twenty eight) was the first time I went to Ibiza and I was a bit concerned before I went that I'd look a bit old in comparison to the average age group. When I was there, however, I actually felt about exactly the average age or younger. I did go to all the quality clubs on the decent side of the island though. I might have felt differently if I'd gone to foam parties at Es Paradis
Go to Ibiza, either with or without your girlfriend!!! You'll have a blast. And will probably make a whole lot of new friends both younger and older than yourself. 8)

Well let me clear some things up, I do love my GF very much and I want to have great times with her. Especially something like Ibiza. I understand everyones point of view and I will say I worded some things wrong because its hard to get your point across on a forum. I mostly wanted to know if maybe it was me, not saying its all her either, we are just having a conflict of interests. It just bothered me cause these are things I wanted to experience with her and I was at a loss. I think it has alot to with tha Im more into it then her and there is alot of negatives associated with this type of music. Some is deserved but nothing that comes along with any other type of music. I just dont want to preassure her into having a good time, we have talked alot lately and Im positive things will be alot different. This whole point is kinda stupid cause so much more important things but it looks like its resolved.
Basically we have to come to a middle ground, not everything can be my way nor hers. I do appreciate all the comments, I took points from all of them for both her and I.

I think life has changed a lot over recent years! The days are long gone where you had to be settled down by the age of 20 with kids although there is nothing wrong with that and on the flip side there is nothing wrong with partying till your wheels fall off!
Im 34 and i was in ibiza with a couple of 45 year olds this year and they showed me the way with their energy and enthusiasm for clubbing and generally having fun! Its done nothong but inspire me to keep going for as long as i can and lets face it life is short enough even if you have a good innings!!!

Rico, I had to post. if you notice I rarely post in this forum, nevertheless i make sure to check it on a regular basis. man you're too young to post such a subject. I'm 33 now, got married on 30 and a father of a baby BUT i still find time to party and even go to Ibiza with my wife.
As you said you started partying at 20-21, if you quit now means that you have enjoyed life for 4 years max.
me too strated partying at 21 (may be because at 16-18 i had no idea about house music
) i've been doing that for 12 years now and don't think i'll retire before 10 more years.
I think that you're hanging out with the wrong crowd man. I give you one honest advice : party hard (on weekends of course) and don't let anybody make you feel guilty for practising human's oldest hobby.

Take it from someone who got DUMPED by the love of her life, because he was sucked in by his previous needy girlfriend through all 4 years of college and never got a chance to LIVE, be naughty and do what he wanted lol. He went nuts and wanted to break free, naturally! Too bad he ended up destroying me in the process
But ultimately, it was for the good of both of us.I realized I had a lot more naughtiness to take care of before I settled down too
And I am still in the process. 8)
