When are you to old to party?

Im bringing this up because Ive had interesting discussions with my girlfriend over this. She feels that I shouldnt be so into partying/clubbing now and that I should be doing more mature things etc etc. I have a very good job, pay my bills on time and ALWAYS put money into savings. I just started in on the stock market and I have 401K.

Parting the night away is like a hobby to me per say. Dancing till the wee hours is a great stress reliever and just getting caught in the emotion of the crowd is unreal. I know I cant do this forever because hey, I wont be young forever and eventually the body can take only so much.

My girlfriend partied hard when she was 16-21 and now acts like its stupid and says "shes done it already" I didnt start till I was 20-21 and have been riding the wave ever since. I dont think I should be faulted for her starting so young and now she likes bars and just sitting there. We goto clubs but she just sits at the bar and Im not allowed to dance cause she wont dance with me and if I even think bout dancing with someone else I will prolly no longer be on this earth :)

Here is the thing, im 25 and she is 23. We have been together for 2 yrs and this started to come to a point because when we first met (Spring Break Bash) I stopped going out cause she didnt want too but after awhile I just really missed it cause it was FUN! I want her to be with me having a good time but as you read earlier, it isnt happening.

She is trying to loosen up and Im hoping she reclaims her youth but I just wanted other opinions. Its not whether who is right or wrong just want your opinions is all. Maybe Im missing something.

Why am I asking you folks? well because I just want too haha. Most my friends here actually side with me and wonder what her deal is, thought Id ask people that dont know me or her and you guys fit the profile.

Ive wanted to goto Ibiza ever since I heard about it, im planning an '06 trip and you can imagine her "excitement" as usual...

I'm 34 and intend to carry on partying till I can't party anymore. For me it's an essential pressure/stress release from my working life. I say there is no upper limit to what age you can party till. If you're willing and you have the spirit then go for it. And if she won't dance with you, find a friend who will. If she won't tolerate you dancing with a friend then it's SHE who has a problem, and it's up to her to sort it out- not you.

i only started clubbing when I was 22 and I'm 28 next month so i have a lot to catch up on :D - dont see the point in worryin about what age isnt acceptable to go clubbing, as long as your having fun, dont worry about what anyone else thinks.

As for your girlfriend - she's far to young to wanna settle down with her slipper and pipe just yet, maybe she's missed out on something big, clubbing wise :?

better just find some clubbing mates you can party with, and then you can crawl home to have the mrs tuck you up into bed ;)

I agree she is too young to be thinking that way and Im trying to figure it out as well. I plan on having fun as long as I can...I just wondered what others views on this would be. I appreciate the comments so far, not to mention its something for me to read while at work.

rico, there are a lot of people on this forum way older than you..

I really think of this is enough of an issue for you to discuss on a public forum, then you know the answer yourself.

Liking someone, or loving someone isn't enough to have a relationship IMO, all the talk of 'love will conquer all" or "love will see us thorugh" is a bunch of bull.. You have to have similar values, ideas, or in your case, and in most cases, and your case inparticular, similar interests.

yeah, and I laugh at anyone in their early twenties who thinks they are "over it". they obviulsy havent' been exposed to any Ibiza like clubbing, or were only in it for the drugs in the first place.

You shouldn't have to justify to us that you pay your bills and have a bunch of money.

I'm 28 and not about to hang up my dancing shoes just yet. Do you live somewhere where there isn't a good club scene? If so, I can see why, where I live, I understand when people my age say they can't be bothered with clubbing anymore, because the clubbing around here IS geared towards under 25 year olds..

anyway, keep on planning that 2006 trip!

I see what you are saying. I by no means plan to stop as its just to much fun :)

The reason why I stated the money and bills is in case anyone asked if I was spending to much money on it to let them know I obviously wasnt. Thats all that was intended for. So im in no way trying to say im well off, merely saying that I personally feel im responsible.

I use to live an hour from New Orleans but Hurricane Katrina changed that. Ill be going back in a year when it is built up but the scene definitely was nice there. Im more a socialite while see is a loner...thing is it wasnt this way in the beginning...which is why I posed this question to you folks.

Ive partied pretty hard but Ibiza would be the pinnacle haha. I do plan to do this trip no matter what, not that im picking a "trip" over her, but if it becomes a big issue then we have obviously gone different directions. Im hoping to pull her out of the slump. Time wil ltell, now im just trying to get Ibiza '06 back online after this Hurricane.

Once again i appreciate your opinions/thoughts. You took the time to answer. Plus It gives me something to read sitting in this small office at work...bah!

refer to example a)

Oakenfold's 42...and I'm pretty sure no one's telling him he's to old to be at the club.

That's absolute madness! You're both babies!

In city years you've got another 20 years left in you at the very very least!

25??? Too old??? I find that almost disturbing.

Not this 'old' stalwart again.

Get this.........please..........I've been clubbing for 35+ years!!! 8O 8O 8O
...........and still doing it.

I first stepped on to a dancefloor in a youth club in 1965 dancing to some of the early soul music and of course the Beatles, Stones, etc.

In December I've will of been DJing for 29 years!!! 8O 8O 8O
...........and doing it for a living now (......and currently being head-hunted by a couple of other clubs in my area :D ).

I've been to Ibiza several times on my own..........and I honestly don't do drugs........don't need them, I get high on music. :D

You're just a baby when it comes to clubbing!

'Nuff said! ;)

I think you're only "too old to party" when you're wearing one of these delightful fashion accessories:

I'm 33. Still going strong 8)

me and my friends have a friend that is 47 and she still comes out with us and gets on it with us, im 24 and i cant see any signs of me stopping yet!! another of my friends is 32 and she has now decided to knock it on the head, but you wait till a big event like gatecraser or something similar comes up she'll be there with us!!!
dont let anyone change the way you are or try and tell you that something you lurve doing is childish when it aint, its a hobby and thats that, you wouldnt tell someone that playing golf is childish now would ya??

I'm 27 years old and been clubbing ever since i was 16 years old or so.

My opinions may be a bit harsh but here they are:

Change a girlfriend or make her change her bizzar theories and thoughts about clubbing ASAP!

There's no such thing as too old to go out clubbing, age is just a number and its all in the head.

As long as you like the music played, the vibe, the people, etc, you must continue clubbing, otherwise you'll reach an age your body wouldn't be able to take it anymore and then u will start regreting about all those years when you could do it but haven't. If your girl still gives u a hard time i'm sure u can find a better one that will be able to deal with it and even like clubbing herself!

From your comments i sense that she never went clubbing due to the love of electronic dance music and was never so into this kind of music, Hence either educate her into this kind of music or just find another girl that does love this music.

Don't be a slave of no female! (well except from Holly G   )

My 2 cents.

Well I definitely dont feel old by no means lol and al the opinions thus far are exactly how I feel on the subject. Im working on her and trying to get her to enjoy it like I do and everyone else thats there as well.

Ya I have some older friends that are early 30's and are just full of life and get down as hard as I do...so I just always found my GF's behavior partculiar.

No matter what Im plugging away on my trip of Ibiza '06 and when I pick dates I hope to see some of you there :)

I second that!!!! Rico, while reading through your post, I don't even want to say how old I thought you were  No offense intended at all, but that is not a typical attitude for a 25 year old man. What is more shocking is your girl is 23!!!! Dang. I am 26 and yeah I have my moments where i feel sorta "old," but its pretty fleeting hahahaha. As one of my fave girlfriends says (she is 38 and still rockin' it... her 42 year old husband too): "I'll sleep when I'm dead."

YOU'RE NEVER TOO OLD TO PARTY, ACT WILD, AND HAVE FUN!!!! :D :D :D

Its cool Pacha, im assuming then that you thought I was older...LOL if you ever met me in real that would be your last thought.

Thx for the opinions...this is very interesting reading. SO BORED AT WORK!!!! :(
