"He called, but did not leave a message".....

When people call your cell and don't leave a message, how do you take that? When it is a friend, do you call back? What about a possible love interest or guy/girl you are dating or have a crush on?

Sometimes I am unclear about what to do. As I said in another post: "My deal is, calling and not leaving a message is like sending a letter with no stamp. Sure you made the effort, but forgot the most important part of sending it!! If someone wants to talk to you bad enough, they will leave a message or at least text HEY call me back."

What is your code of conduct, or do you have one? If it is a friend I always call or text back. If it is a boy I'm interested in, I don't usually call back. It may sound like I'm trying to play games, but that's really not my aim. I am generally NOT a phone person. I love gabbing every once in a while, but usually I just want to hear the wheres/whens/hows of plans... I'll talk to you when I see ya 8)

GO!! :P

Unless I'm avoiding the person, I usually call back. Everyone knows that the phone will show a missed call, so sometimes they don't bother to leave a message.

One of my worst little bug bears is when absolute (untw4nkers fcuking phone me up,and leave a message to say "hi mate it's just me, ccall me back..."

"I'VE SEEN YOUR MISSED CALL C0CKNOSE WHY WASTE MY TIME WITH THAT FCUKING OBVIOUS MESSAGE"

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

*breathe out...*

I would simply tell the friend, foe or love interest to leave a message next time. However, I will return the call at the earliest possible moment. I would return the call irrespective of whether it is a friend, foe or love interest.

As far as playing games are concerned, my take is that it's OK if both parties are the types to play games. As for myself, I tend to be very cut and dry person, and hence 'tis not me cup of tea.

Ah, but you see, business callers you want to leave a message. That way, you know if you have to bother to call them back, especially if it's on a weekend.

Friends are the ones you don't want leaving messages, because it's usually that annoying "hi, it's me. call me." crap.

I usually don't leave any message if it's not really important and so do most of my friends. As the cell phone records the phones then it's fine

Exactly... that's the point we've been making. Friends don't need to leave messages because you end up taking time to listen to the voicemail and it's rarely more than "hi! it's me". You've got caller ID on the phone, so you already know! Why bother leaving a message?

Totally. my friends all know where I stand on that... if they call and don't leave message, its a "call me when you get a chance" type of deal. If they need to talk soon, they will leave message or text me. No sense in waisting minutes to hear, "Hey call me back! >click<."

The latin kid who is interested in me did the same thing tonight... called when I was out and no message. I am not even curious about this one anymore so F-it. :P

Fair point... When i used to use my phone for business i considered one of those duel SIM card options. Never got round to it and don't require at the mo...

Anyone had experience of duel sim card phones? have considered going freelance again and would be handy... can't be arsed with two mobiles

My boyfriend got one of those but he usually forgot to switch from professional to personal number and viceversa so it wasn't very handy.

Now a days he has just one number and during the weekends he only answers phone calls from identified numbers ;)

A very irate supplier in work called me the other day and left a message saying:

"Invoice no 1234566 has STILL NOT BEEN PAID! How long will we have to wait for this money? If I do not receive full payment in 7 days I will be forced to call in our solicitors. Please call me back ASAP so we can discuss this further!!"

*hangs up*

:?

How the funk am I supposed to know who we are paying if she doesn't tell me who she is, where she's calling from, and her phone number?! Stupid wench :!:
