What's wrong with Ibiza

So, that's the closing parties for another year.
Here are my thoughts about things..
The bars on the sunset strip really have to be more responsible in employing a clean up crew for the rocks/beach in the general area of their premises. Even if some of the rubbish dosn't come from their bars, they are earning enough to afford a few extra staff for this. They need to pick up everything even ciggerette butts etc.
The clientel shouldn't throw throw their trash on the beach in the first place.....but they do.
The clubs are getting too greedy.
Space..This year you charge an extra one Euro on beer and three Euros on spirits. Who in the Space office thought that last years prices of 8 Euros for a beer and 10 Euros for cocktails wasn't enough. Not to mention the extra entrance fee.
- Why, if you pay 60 Euros to go in can't you give more than one passout.
Why at 5 euros does the water have to be the tiniest bottles, come on give us the next size up.
Space you are one of, if not the best club in the world. You are tainting your image.
Also, remember, competition is a good thing.
San Antonio Council, get your act together and landscape the place. All that wasteground covered in dog shit isn't exactly potraying a great image.
People need to drive slower. The amount of roadside floral tributes is just depressing. I was driving on a country road last week at 80 kmh, and was overtaken by a bus. This is madness. Put some speed cameras up, and use the profit for tidying the Island up.
Bora Bora, if you get your disco licence, please don't put up a big fence and charge an enterance fee.
As for clubs closing down. 11 years ago both Amnesia and Privilage had to close for at least one season.
And remember, the best way to make small fortune in Ibiza is to come with a large one.

btw: theres nothing wrong with the island....ive been there in september, and it had the coolest people since years,....dont messure ibiza on july and august....

 sorry, it was 10 years ago (1994) and the then KU. now re-named Privilage was closed. I also thought Amnesia was closed that year too, but could be wrong on that one.
Don't get me wrong , I still love Ibiza. That's why I think things should be done to save it. Crap like 'Ibiza Uncovered' has done so much damage to the place.
To also say that there's nothing wrong, and nobody has to change to preserve the atmosphere is not true.

also 1994 amnesia was open :D ...think they never had to close,...Ku was closed,...they where closed cause of bankrupty....the roof they had to built was to expensive,...thats one story ive heard ,...the other one is cause of mafia business, drugs,..and to loud music,...anyway...yes Ku was closed...one or 2 years,...but mc-history should know that ;)

I personally think the image Ibiza Uncovered created has gradually gone away.

Especially the last year or two.

I agree, it has. But it does still linger in the memories of the family non clubbing tourist, who are responsible for bringing a broader economical benifit to the Island.
Let's face it, most clubbers' spending money gets distributed into a few select pockets. Not all the Island benifits from this

I just got back on Saturday after two glorious weeks.

They really need to clean the place up. The dog shit and rubbish is just shocking. So many families will go once and not bother coming back. As for prices, the clubs are really starting to take the pi$$ and I envisage them taking a massive hit next year - watch this space!

Ibiza needs to reinvest all the millions into it's economy. The area between Mambo and Coastline is shocking and the area beside the small beach behind Blau Park is disgusting. They need to do something drastically about this.

My idea - develop the area beside Mambo, right up to Coastline and past Kasbah. Make this the clubbers strip. Decent bars and clubs, like an upmarket West End (dare I say it!) Leave the West End for the Chavs and then the Bar M strip (which has been redeveloped!!!) for the families. If anyone needs a hand, I will gladly take on a marketing job!!! :D

The prices will always go up, and quite frankly I don't care anymore, I just use them as interesting facts to tell my relatives at Christmas, when they complain about the price of beer in shops

ibiza is the greatest place in the world to me forget about £ i could go out there with £100 for a week and still have a blast its bout meeting new people and being you without having to worry bout what others think.

I've just come back from the closing partys. Had a good time, but it was spoilt by spanish cunts pushing an shoving a generally being rude as f*** to us. we are sick of it. pushing in at the bar,the que for the toilets,an shoving a grabbing in space an dc10. rude as f***.

as for prices....pathetic. This was my 8th time to ibiza an my last for a while. Bora Bora closed down...the island is loosing it,im afraid to say.

Music was spot on in space an even better in dc10 but its no fun when its packed beyond belief an you cant dance...just standing there while spanish push into you.

my friends went to go to smokin joe's nastydirtysexmusic party, paid 20 Euro's to get there, only for the wanker bouncers to say no engish...he wouldnt let them in, just kept letting spanish by...then said it was full,an waved them away. my mate speaks spanish an heard the spanish bouncers saying, dont let any english in. ahhh f*** em.

Ceen: Why do you know the rude people were only Spanish?
There're lots of Italian people too and you possibly mistook some for others. In fact I'm sure many northern people does.

Moreover, when I'm in a club in Spain, I usually feel comfortable except for very few times when I run into some goddamn rude guy. I mean I don't feel like you. Would that mean you are touchier than normal?? :?:  :?:

I cant belive they would not let any English into nastydirtysexmusic, that is taking the pi$$. That shows you what a lot of locals think about British tourists, they just want to take their money.

Ibiza was well and truly dead in the mid 90's and the British promoters came in and revitalised the island. There is no argument.

I went to Roger Sanchez at Pacha for the closing and the week before. A lot of the locals treat Pacha as there local ritzy and there are lots of people milling about trying to eye up and cop off with a anyone who catches their attention. A dance floor is a dance floor, not a chat floor, not a stand floor, but a f***ing dance floor. I like people around me all to be in that frame of mind. You need people to lift you and be there 100% for the music. I ended going up to the Funky Room to get away from a guy with a pink jacket trying his best to get off with any female with a pulse, wondering about, bumping into people. He was the worst dancer I have ever seen in my life. At one point there was a 50 year old, sweaty man with a beer belly dancing to a completely different song that was being played trying to hump females legs like a dog (only in Ibiza, and yes I know it's what makes it great!)

The crowd at Reinasance the following week, predominately British, were all up for it and there were no Ritzy types. I know a little Spanish and I hate to say it, but the people doing the barging and pushing were Spanish.
Manners cost nothing and some people need to learn 'Raving Manners' (as put in place in '88 - you alright mate, sorry mate, no problem, want a drink of my water, have a drink of my water, where you from, excuse me mate - you should also try and pass someone who is dancing like you are the invisible man and try and squeeze through impossible small spaces without anyone noticing!)

I have been to Ibiza too many times to care, first going with my family in 82!

The commercialisation (Ibiza hits, Ibiza Trance, Ibiza House, The best Ibiza album in the world...ever! etc etc) does not help. The general lax attitude and pi$$ taking of the clubs should not be allowed to continue. Something has to be done!

haha

it's curious. If you go to a Pure Pacha party, predominantly British, you also find wannabees all around with their best outfits on, and I don't think all the British are this way. I mean, Release Yourself is the most well-known party here in Spain among the posh people. The same happens with Roger Sanchez, overrated DJ. He plays fab when he wants, but in Release Yourself is crap, commercial and sweetcake. If you go to the poshest Spanish clubs you'll see the people mistaking the dancefloor for a chat floor.

If you go to La Troya, Balearic People, Cocoon or Circo Loco, or a good Spanish club, you won't find Spanish people showing off but getting crazy to the music.

I also think that the bouncer who didn't want to let in English people was a stup1d son of a b1tch just behaving that way. But not all the people think like that. That's minority. I love seeing people from everywhere in a club, that's one of the very attractives of Ibiza. As me, lots of people think the same.

You're letting your instincts to take control on you. That's not good to reason.

I am definately going to La Troya when I return. :D

You can get these 'toursits' anywhere I suppose, it's just they are a different class in Ibiza! (Pink Jackets, shocking dancers, over 50 with some kind of sexual dog instinct!) :D

:D

'Raving Manners' (as put in place in '88 - you alright mate, sorry mate, no problem, want a drink of my water, have a drink of my water, where you from, excuse me mate - you should also try and pass someone who is dancing like you are the invisible man and try and squeeze through impossible small spaces without anyone noticing!)

Hear Hear!!!

La troya is excellent - excellent music and excellent people - even the bouncer who confiscated some sweets of mine was pleasant!
