I know that pop remixes have been dancehall staples for years. I'll also admit that I bounced on the floor to the "Sweet Dreams Are Made of This" remix from a year or two ago as much as anyone. Nevertheless, do you guys feel the rampant proliferation of 1980s music remixed/remade/reworked is starting to get excessive?
The girls in the office have 4 in their daily MP3 playlist rotation: "Touch Me" by Samantha Fox, "Call on Me" which was all over the place last year, Hall & Oates' "Out of Touch" remade by someone, and one other one I'm forgetting right now. Add to that the "California Dreaming" remake by Royal Gigilos and the overplayed-in-Moscow "If You're Going to San Francisco" remix of the Mamas and Pappas tune and it's all just driving me a wee bit nuts.
