This kind of follows on from Chewie's post last wk and baby photos, me and Tom were looking thru some old photos tonight and we were posl at the ones of me BT 8O

No 1 aged 16/17 - when I was going thru my 'traveller'/living in a squat phase from going to a few 'traveller' raves  8O  - long semi-dreadlocks, with pink, blue and purple bits in it 8O 8O 8O

Closely followed by no 2 aged 18/19 - by this stage had gone to university and had peroxide blonde shoulder length hair but used to change it on a whim so went temporarily pillar box red (and I mean RED) for a month 8O 8O 8O

A runner-up was when I used to have really deep red/purple hair and used to dye the front in bleach (literally Domestos 8O  ) so I could look like some MTV presenter at the time

I so wish I had a scanner at home to name and shame me  8O

Right so share your hair scare stories

Order may not be quite right.

A few yrs back...went to toni & guys with a friend whilst she had her hair done.....one of the staff asked me whilst i waited if id be a model for her in a hair comp....though yeah why not...free hair cut free colour...papmered for a day...cant be bad :?

Worst mistake i ever made....they hacked all my hair off...nothing like the picture they showed me...made a real mess off the colour adn i swear if i looked in the mirror i could see Limahl (kajagoogoo) staring right back at me

But not only that, i tried to rectify it myself (not a lot i could do about the style) but i stripped the colour and put another colour on...oh my god.....i looked like an albino gone wrong...it took yrs to sort out and grow it back to how it now :(

Because my hair is so naturally straight and strong it just shot over the shorer bit without bending. I looked like a thatched roof!

When I was 16 I tought it would be cool to grow my hair thinking it would be like Slash's fro Guns and Roses. But my hair was too thick so it just grew out in a mini fro untill it was long enough to put in a pony tail]

I then kept this hair style for 5 years or so !

It's more process of elimination with me cos I think I've done everything possible with my hair (even the domestos thing! ).

I had dreads all through school and the only way I could get them to matt at that time (before I discovered bees wax) was to put perming lotion in them and leave it in!

Then I decided it would be a good idea to superglue beads in - which worked funnily enough! However, one day I managed to make a dread really brittle and it broke off - so I glued it back on at a jaunty angle  ...this was the last straw and the reason why I shaved my head at 17.

I've had various mohawks, mullets, colours, plaits...oh christ the list is endless. Some very embarrassing but all very necessary at the time.

Grew my dreadies back for my round the world trip last year but it didn't seem to suit my London lifestyle so I've gone a bit grown-up these days.

Hmmm - maybe it's time to do something silly again. :?

Aged about 3 - my Dad decided to cut my fringe himself, without having any hair-cutting experience! He cut it about two inches too short, apparantly my mum was embarassed to take me out until it grew back

Aged about 12 - After having shoulder length blonde hair for most of my life, I decided to hack it all off, into some kind of semi-bob, above my ears  This was not a good look and took about a year and a half to grow back

Aged about 14 - Being a teenager in the Spice Girls phenomena, my favourite was Scary Spice! I decided to try and do my hair like hers for a party, bought some brown dye and back combed it, however the dye reacted with my hair and went purple, and because I'd back combed my hair so much, it was really frizzy and damaged (and purple 8O ) for ages after that

Aged about 15 - After the purple hair incident, I had my hair permed, which looked ok at the time, but when it grew out the straight roots looked ridiculous   I then had to wait about 4 years for that perm to properly grow out

Aged 22 - A few months ago, whilst experiementing with red hair dye, I accidentally dyed my hair purple again! Emergency trip to the hairdressers to re-colour it

Will I ever learn

My mum gave me a frizzy home perm when I was about 13. She left the fringe straight for some reason which made it look even more wrong. I had great big pink glasses at the time - I looked like a junior Deirdre Barlow.

hmmmm - having a sister train as a hairdresser from the age of 16 till today has been a thorn in my side, along with the fact I grew up through the punk era its been some sights!

Its been pink and black and blue and purple and green (bad choice )

I had a mohawk - and LOVED it - I used to wear it in 15 tight ponytails so each ponytail stood up with a crimped fringe - it was like Annabella Lwin (sp?) out of Bow Wow Wow. For ultimate crimping it was a full can of Bristows hairspray, get hair as stiff as cardboard then crimp!

I then coloured it orange (it said Celtic Copper on the box :? ), and had hair extensions put it - down to my arse, didnt realise how much maintenance hair extensions took then, consequently it turned into 2' dreadlocks in black and orange. :D

Hacked off the extensions but kept the dread look for another year (Robder instead of bees wax, I used to go to the local horsey supplier shop and use saddle wax, melt it on crimpers and mould it into your hair)

Took about 2 years to get my hair back to a healthy standard after that, so what did I do then?? Yes dye it screaming orange and red - It was like that for my wedding day too!! (actually it looks a lovely colour on my wedding photos).

At this point I discovered a balding patch - and my sister said no more dying, extensions or any straighteners.... This was a wake up call - I really freaked out. 8O 8O 8O 8O

Hair did grow back again in that spot after a few years to my eternal relief, gave it 3 years rest all in all and then had hair extensions put back in again - Ibiza 2003, far too hot for hair extensions- got the kitchen scissors out of the the villa and hacked them all off. (£300 down the drain!! 8O 8O ). Hair was so funked again that I had it all cut off - I hated it with a passion - this to me is my worse hairstyle because when it started to grow it grew like a hat - hence the Campo then Nadia looky likey jokes starting

Being curly beyond belief, its very difficult to actually have a "hairstyle" as such? It just tends to do its own thing - now its actually getting there again, its past the inbetween stage and I quite like my hair now - just wish it would actually grow longer than my shoulders - stops me selling out and getting hair extensions in again!!

To be frank, I am surprised I am not wearing a wig a la Joan Collins... :? ;) ;)

PMSL @ this thread.

My worst hairstyle is my hair "Au Naturel"

Curliest frizziest fair hair in the world. The hair is like that white bloke with the afro who breakdances on that run dmc vs jason nevins video.

Not that i've seen it in seven years, I now sharpen my head weekly, much to the despair of my balding friend who think i should have hair while it's still there.

Wow some very adventurous people on here!

In high school I had short back and sides with a longe long fringe that I would slick back. Horrible look!

In University I shaved my head bald, redoing it with a razor every 3 days or so. Then I noticed people were crossing the street to avoid me so I thought I'd let it grow back
