what's new on this board - questions and suggestions

hi,

from an idea by conrad, here is a quick summary of the differences and new features:
  • we have changed the layout primarily to include forums for our other websites, such as Benidorm Spotlight:
    http://www.benidorm-spotlight.com/. we shall be opening up some new Benidorm forums in the new year.
  • as you can see we have also included links back to our sites for ibiza and benidorm :arrow: (see right). for those of you who haven't yet visited these sites - you'll find absolutely loads of up to date holiday info on both resorts - happy surfing!
  • we have re-arranged the clubbing forums a bit to include a section for non-ibiza parties. this is for all your NYE plans, etc. any non-ibiza posts in the ibiza parties forum will be rigorously exorcised.
  • some of your signatures will contain backslashes in front of \"quotes\" - please edit these yourselves
  • the best new features of the forums are IMHO:
    • quick reply - click on the little button to the right of the reply buttons and type in the box below the thread
    • easy formatting of posts - no more learning bbcode - just click on the B button and voilà bold
    • sorting threads - look at the bottom of each forum display - you can sort threads by all sorts of nifty things
    • private messages - much clearer and easier to see who sent you what and when. there is a limit of 150 messages per person, so please keep your inboxes and sent boxes clean
    • searching - you can now search by forum and even in individual threads - very useful
    • similar threads - look at the page bottom of some threads - you will often see links to 5 similar threads - this can be very helpful when looking for certain information

Can we have that feature back? I used it often for flying visits where I just wanted to see who had replied to my posts... 8)

I know some boards have this feature, but is it possible to put a little icon or symbol to show what threads you have written in and which you haven't? Perhaps a dot on the envelope or something like that?

I am happy this board now has that feature where if you put the cursor over teh thread title, you get a preview of the thread :D

Links in email to subscribed topics doesnt work for some reason.

The search function needs a lot of work as well.

Also - the "Posts made since your last login" was possibly the function I used most on the old board. Any chance of it back please?
 
It says there is no unread pms when there is as well. So you all might want to check your inbox to be sure.
 
it is there nish - check the link under your welcome message and private messages. it was my favourite bit too, so i had to add it in ;)

I found the search function misses a lot too.
 
the search function might not yet be fully updated with all posts. i shall rebuild the index overnight and see if that helps.

That might be it. It seems to miss 2005 posts.
