cant listen to kaiser cheifs, overhyped nme nonsense

they werent good at the festivals, they were crap and that singers a moonboy...

i listen to downloaded sets or other random cdrs i've stuck together...

always seem to put my foot down when motorcycle comes on...

hmm myself and 100'000 at glasto would disagree with your 2nd point!! :?

sorry no offence intended, i just don't understand their hype.

imho their music stinks, but each to their own. i listened to them first about 9 months or so ago, before the hype kicked in after hearing oh my god on zane low's show. liked it at first, listened to it a few times. i'll agree they do seem to get crowds going, but i still didn't think their performance was worthy of the adulation the fans showed.

i've also heard about 5 or 6 people say to me new order were amazing at titp, but i watched that as well and they were poor.

same goes for the killers, they don't seem to have found their strength as a live band. they made their album then all of a sudden were huge, its like they haven't done the same time as others have getting their act together. but i accept these comments of mine for what little they are worth will only be agreed with by the minority, so save the backlash cause i know 99.9% of people will disagree :) if you like em, then thats all that matters! (ps. i do actually like the killers and have done since they were virtually unheard of, so im kinda contradicting that little nme hype band comment i made earlier!)

none taken

each to there own, et al!!!

IMO they are a very good live/festival band, lot's of energy, however we shall see what the "difficult 2nd album" is like??

my fave band at the mo, (as they have been for a few years now) are doves, they have released 3 cracking albums!!! and musically/production wise you cant beat em ;)

that i'll give you, doves are an excellent band :)

was recently very surprised by kings of leon. always listened to them to chill out to as their music, despite being guitar led is still kind of easy to listen to. went to see them live last month and they were absolutely rocking (wish i had a better word than rocking to use!).

yeah, agree, recently bought their 1st album, after month/years of deliberation and i agree it's wicked, i believe the 2nd album's better?? also need to sort my life out & get black rebels 2nd album!!

you heard of the subways?? :?

I listen to Radio 1 in the car except when it's Scot Mills, Westwood or any of the weekend daytime shows. When they're on it's Radio 5, Virgin or something random from my dwindling tape collection.
I also love the Kaiser Chiefs, I heard they were poor at Oxegen but their gig in Belfast a few months back was fantastic and the album rocks too!

yeah i do, they're ok, got a bit fed up of em last year, but enjoyed the live stuff ive seen this year ;)

Danny Howells - Miami GU27
Timbuktu (very cool swede stuff 8) )
Deep Dish - Toronto GU 25 (I think I have listened to this 247685 times - still wow-ish!)
Some (a little old school) hip-hop like Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, nwa, eazy-e, snoop, tupac, dre, Notorious B.I.G etc. when I feel badass 8)

In my car it's either Radio One/Two or a Northern Soul mix tape (which is jammed in the tape player, so can't be changed - no CD player in my car)

In his car it's ever changing, I like to listen to songs I sing along to when we're driving, so normally Motown type stuff. He's not really into house music, so it's rare i get to listen to that when he's driving. Most recent choices from him have been Kaiser Chiefs, The Ordinary Boys and Jamiroquai.

keane have grown on me, perhaps not the most exciting music but...
1. congratulations on introducing a new perspective to rock music (dunno if rock is the word really)
2. consistently performing well and commanding good presence whenever they play live, don't own any albums but i want to see them live

dunno if they'd inspire me while im driving though :) not what i consider driving music

CD Changer contains:

Chewie's last CD
Jam Man May CD ;)
Pacha Roof Terrace CD
Cafe Mambo CD
Bambuddah Grove The Arrival CD2
Plump DJ's Album
