What job did you WANT to do after leaving school?

I wanted to be a Psychologist but I enjoyed and did better at Sociology than Psychology at Uni so decided to do my Honours in that. :)

Btw, I'm sure yours was a 'proper' degree (see my post above), just my ropey one that wasn't.

I wanted to be an actor/dancer in west end musicals NOT tv.

I did Drama and Expressive Arts with an A* in both and also went to Drama school but for some reason i never followed it through :?

You're 20-21, aren't you Karlos? Flip your desk over, tell Halifax they can shove 'Howard' up their arse and enrol in a Drama course.

This sounds really bad but there is far to much competition and i cant sing :?

Join/then a boy band then :P

I wanted to do ANYTHING other than what I'm doing now....I'm a qualified Psychiatric/Learning Disabilities nurse. Both my parents are LD nurses so I didn't want to do it simply cos of that......BUT.....I worked in a gallery, went in the Army when I was made redundant, worked in a sex shop (honestly!), worked for Texas Homecare (by far the worst job I've ever had) and then started working for a dial-a-ride company ferrying disabled people about the place. I found a sort of niche there, but when the dial-a-ride company folded due to one of the major sponsors pulling out I went to work as a nursing assistant at the local psychiatric unit. The ward sister where I was working advised me to do my nurse training so I qualified as a psychiatric nurse but found I had far more talent for looking after people with learning disabilities so I did the conversion course (before they brought out the current Project2000 nurse 'training'), and here I am.

I had loads of ideas what i wanted to do after leaving school- physiotherapist, sports journalist, working in PR, but now, half way through my degree when i have to start actually seriously considering what i want to do i have no idea  :?

He doesn't find out til he finishes his training and that's 6 weeks and then he gets whisked off on a magical mystery tour to some far off land.

Lucky bleeder - I love my life, but to be 21 (that's right I think?) and going off to do that would be ideal 8)
