I think you will be referring to the 'Fallas' of Valencia possibly. Information from my Spanish friend tells me it is a weeks fiesta and ends on the 19th March with paper mache etc statues/models being burnt. These have been around all the preceeding week. One only is voted not to be burnt. He referred to them as Ninots?
