What is Funky???

Hiya,

just been listening to joey negro in the house on the way to work... Now i'm probably gonna put a few backs up but is that what people are calling funky house these days?

It's nice enough music (with a capital nice) but i couldn't see myself losing it on a night out listening to that. I'd imagine if i worked in a funny farm it's the sort of music i'd play to bring the patients BACK from the insane.

I might listen to it if i wanted to comedown but certainly not to come up!

Off the top of my head the last 2 space compilations A sides i'd call funky allbiet a little commercial. The b sides i'd call house music or deep or tribal house.

Anyone wanna put me straight?? i appreciate it's personal taste

Beside's hard house, it's all HOUSE MUSIC after that, if i find it funky... it is! if i find it tough & diiiirty, it is!

good point... guess i'm just miffed cos i wasted another 12.99 or whatever it was. Plus it'll probably grow on me and i'll be lovin it in 3 months.

And i'm always complaining about labels. house is house.

I luv even though its old the Birmingham Crew V Mr Vegas but cant find it anywhere, thats an old classic tune with a goood bass line.

think thats where i'm coming from... acid house, hardcore (not the happy variety please), dnb/jungle

...tunes like this? try some of the breakbeaty crossover stuff thats out now.

Anyone know of any cd's like this? Getting a bit pricey compiling my own compilations

it's been 4 weeks now!!! you're in for a long hall mate but keep it up.
been smokin blunts and hubblys to get the taste of smoke.. Miss it so much.

saw adam and charlie the other night and relapsed... thats definatley the holy grail. A night with them 2 without smoking!!!

Get down the quacks and get some patches on script
