When I went to Uni I was lucky to get a good grant and I also worked in a clothes shop Saturday and Sunday and during holidays.

ok now i sound thick, how do u get a grant?

I also got a grant and I went pre tuition fees. Feel sorry for students these days. Well, not that sorry! Student nights were dead cheap but if you've already got a taste for London social life and proper clubbing, could be hard sinking to the depths of drinking £1 pints in plastic glasses and dancing to cheese at the Poly Bop.

If you really want to go though, you should do it - it's a great experience and probably a bonus for future career prospects.

i wouldnt let being skint all the time worry you, this is uni your there to get educated you only pay off the loans once your earning more than 15k go to ucas to find out about loans i just sent my form off so just gonna sit back and wait to see where i get offered a place put down brighton and leeds as my first choices,

Kitty,
You need to be careful not to get in toooooo much debt though, as long as you are sensible. I am at uni and have always worked part-time which helps. Remember you do have to pay back the student loans in the end and I know a few people now who are p*ssed off with having to pay out 100 quid a month.
It depends what type of course you want to do aswell because some will have funds or bursarys available. You can also apply for hardship loans once you are at uni which are often a few hundred quid. Look into it carefully and get as much info from different uni's as you can.
