I just saw an article projecting a strong turnout for Trump. I don't mind if the republicans lead for the next 4 years, but I feel it will neglect the progressive agenda in a serious way! For that reason, it might be important to consider the outcome in terms of more than who sits on the Supreme Court (From Google: "Members of the Supreme Court are appointed by the President subject to the approval of the Senate.") What tends to happen is a lopsided towards or against conservative or liberal judiciary that outlasts the presidency, which effects the way law is interpreted and begins to approach lots of constitutional law.
That is mostly an issue for redistricting or application of and interpretation of environmental law, for example Cap and Trade legislation for carbon neutrality which would allow companies with a higher level of carbon neutrality to trade their quota (given a limit imposed under law so that goals can be met by a certain time) so that carbon tonnage by another company that will exceed is counted toward the total allowed for both businesses instead of holding them in penalty or not meeting the goal set by something like the Paris Agreement.
What tends to happen or at least it did from 2016, we see a less involved agenda; something more domestic and less congruent with modernity.
That is one solution to a problem facing the world; not everyone wants certain aspects of modern society to be indoctrinated into their system of values, or their worldview.
To put that into terms that are probably commonly paraphrased in Ibiza, it becomes for other cultures a contest of wits to remain true to one's origins and to one's family or upbringing. Well, upbringing on Ibiza is probably one of those things! I want to keep my kids! Too many things draw them away.
Anyway, I don't mind republicans even if it isn't as exciting. Some of the issues though that did last time coincide with our republican leadership were regressive social nuances; we tend to 'let ourselves go' in terms of perhaps prejudice or our natural tendency for interacting with for example job applicants who may be multicultural or minority.
But they are qualified. If there is an opportunity to stifle what is being termed Western imperialism, republican led America is it! We can simply dismantle imperialism as a function of conservative leadership.
