I think sometimes this song is misinterpreted. You can ask Bono or Edge or find any number of music aficianado-types - journalists, fans, whomever...

You find that some people think this song is about women; and maybe it is!

To me, "With or Without You" is about more.

My interpretation of those 4 words is about the realization that something in life is holding you back. There's more to be had if you're willing to transcend, and that's when your heart screams,

I will do this. This is me. This is mine, with or without you.
