What Are You Listening To Right Now??

We were chatting with some friends today and we had to pick some track for a NYE play list that is beginning to look pretty good.. love this, complete at home party tune..

this song really put me into the trance category in terms of my musical tastes for years when I first started listening to - I don't know what to call it now. I really don't want to say EDM because I feel like it connotes this sort of generational aspect that is incongruent with the ethos of the former music. Anyway, I remember it from Tiesto, and I think it was on Ministry of Sound's Club Nation America (Johnny Vicious, Tall Paul) where I first heard it.

I said not long ago that it was somewhat "goth-y"... because "Heaven holds a sense of wonder, and I wanted (notice past tense there "want-ed" as in don't know if I want anymore) to believe...". I guess it's not goth as in industrial with painted nails and black boots, but it has that religion theme going with "heaven".

When I started out with dance music, I was trying to reconcile my emotional state... I had feelings about rejection. I felt like my parents weren't getting it, and I was on my own to some degree - I was using lots of drugs & I had run away and was living in Denver on a trust fund that lasted maybe 6 months, which I was supposed to save for college. And I found it made sense to me in another context - sex. I thought that I had no place in heaven. I was cast out, and all these new experiences were unfamiliar with new associations...

Anyway, the track is evocative and powerful. I absolutely revere the vocalism of Sarah McLachlan. She's astonishing!

You are the most interesting person on here. Always read your post and enjoy them alot.. Alot on here are people who have been here for years and probably really good friends, meet in Ibiza for a week or two and think they know everything and are very well informed about party's and drugs ect. But your post are a breath of fresh air.. I haven't been to ibiza in 6 years and I worked there nfrom may until November for two years without any interest in the party or dj that played at them. Late to the scene you might say, much prefer the beach some ,food and some evening drinks with friends... Hopefully going next year with some very eager people in a WhatsApp group in Belgium... Looking forward to it.. hope it happens..

Wow!!! Thank you! :D I'm so flattered...

And you plan! That sounds really cool! Right now, I don't think Spain will let me visit Ibiza. I think there's a restriction on most tourism, actually. But don't quote me. I'm not 100%, I just thought I read it. I was looking around at travel because I met this really neat girl. She's significantly younger than me, and the odds are totally against us. But I believe in miracles. LOL... And so I thought, "Oh! I'll take her to Ibiza!"; to which I've never even been. Maybe Dubai. She lives in Central Asia. And she's never been to the United States, so we talk about her visiting here, but I don't know when we'll get around to it. Anyway...

You may be on to something about the parties and DJs. I'm a little wary of the newer EDM; though I subscribe to some. Porter Robinson is cool! :)

Thank you for saying something so nice to me, @Alisa Mehan!

I'm a world of BS,fear and lies I think it's ok for someone to dream a little.. plenty of it here with people thinking club opening doors even for 50% capacity or fully seated is the new normal.. Raves and clubbing came from breaking rules, not following them... just can't see any of that happening tbh.... Everywhere that needs tourism are changing their work model and it won't be pretty or cheap...
