true - but it's still really nice to have some sort of sign back! in time it will give the airport its own identity, very much like the old sign did.

Oh i totally agree with it needing a sign. The old one was massively iconic and I'm gutted it gone but times change.
Ibiza seems to be having huge changes over the last couple of years.
 
I hope it is lit up at night, it looks about as modern as they come i.e boring. That said it will become iconic in the way the old one did especially with the newbs who have yet to venture out there they will soon be taking pics on arrival day or night stood under the sign in some way or another.
Better then nowt :)
 
saw it again yesterday, by night this time. it only has indirect illumination and (at the moment) it is less visible than the old sign at night. hope they will improve it. but the sign itself is growing on me every time i see it.
 
I used to love landing at the airport.. getting the camera out and having my picture taken in front of the old sign.. did so for 10 years running lol... sad i know..part of the old Ibiza charm - some things shouldn't have to change

best thing was how out of this world ****ing amazing it looked at night.
even with a crap camera sign always looked brilliant.

saddest thing is that nobody knows what happened to the original sign.
so probably some greedy brainless bastard has sold it to a scrapyard
to make a few euros :spank:

under all circumstances they should have kept it and - if not at it´s former place -
at least installed it somewhere inside in the airport :x:x :?
