Weekend Rundowns

Fri: Invited some friends over for a Burns supper. Everyone brought a course or a component of one - I ended up spending a small fortune on an abundance of shellfish and it was beautiful - oysters, scallops, mussels and langoustine. Didn't make it past the main course of haggis (what else?), roast potatoes and turnips in a lovely blue cheese and wholegrain mustard sauce.
Haven't been to a Burns Night in years. I love me haggis, I do!

I was off in the Holy Land for the weekend (and half of this week)

Friday - Flew to Tel Aviv. Settled into hotel, went for a walk on the beach, dropped by a bar I'd visited my first time in Israel last year, then headed to HaSharon 12 where techno DJ Koze from the Kompakt label was headlining. Great tunes! :D Met up with the good mr Fusion, as well as a bunch of other randoms including a couple of people I'd randomly met during my last visit (turns out, one of them used to date a friend of mine, whom I know from Moscow, when they both lived back in the States :eek:). From there we went to a club called Maxim for an early after-hours session, then back to HaSharon 12 for a more serious afterparty. Got back to the hotel around noon...

Saturday - ...and got only a couple of hours of sleep before I had to get up and track down some colleagues. Spent most of evening feeling very rough  Attended the Dinamo Kiev v Red Star Belgrade match. Went home, got room service, crashed.

Sunday - Took a walk around old Jaffa. Met up with a bunch more colleagues that arrived. Attended the CSKA Moscow v Shakhtar Donetsk match. Then went to a great party headlined by a full concert set by Pink :D I'm not a big fan but great performance and wow has she got some pipes!

I saw Pink at V and have never been a great fan but I was surprised, I thought she was a really good performer.

Apparently she lived in the same hotel as me, and even gave an impromptu performance in the bar later that night. Several of my colleagues ran into her around the place but I somehow didn't...

Its funny isnt it how seeing people live can sometimes change your opinion of them. I always come away from festivals really liking people I never thought I would/or changing my mind.
