Weekend Rundowns???

Sunday - Dragged my damaged head out of bed and went to Wembley for the American football. Not the best match ever but still fun to see an NFL match in London

Just read that -Proper jealous! :D

Admittedly I made zero effort to find tickets, but I would have loved to go to that. I might get shouted at for this, but I probably actually prefer it to (proper) football, and it's only lack of coverage over here that prevents me getting more stuck into it.

I loved the American football of my youth. Yes, it's a start/stop game which can annoy those used to constant motion, but the strategy and carnage involved are mesmorizing.

But I must say, the modern game with it's constant stops for innumerable television commercial breaks is just too annoying. I watch a couple of matches on TV each season and it's aggravating, but it's even worse in the stadium where you have dead time and/or commercials shown on the big TV screens :!:

In short, I much prefer soccer these days.

You should have let me know... a London banker friend of mine had a huge bunch of tickets (including the 2 I gave up to go sit elsewhere).

No! Gutted!

I suppose my love of it pretty much stems entirely from caning Joe Montama's Sports Talk Football on the Sega Megadrive (Genesis), and Cyberball.

It's just more tactical. Probably the ultimate tactical game (well, clearly not, but...!). Like chess, but with big people!

i hear you but i just can't handle the breaks in the game after every out of bounds/play, etc.

i always love seeing a big sack though.8O:lol:

Nothing like seeing someone get absloutely pummelled by someone else, is there?

I like Dan's analogy... it is somewhat like chess.... with 350 pound men.
