Did we do one?

Fri: nice quiet night in watched a rather funny film Wag the Dog about spin doctors (US stylee...)

Sat: Phil and I went on a mamoth walking stint - 4 hours along the coast, and we stopped for Tapas and wine on the way back - here's me feeling really proud of us doing all this sensible healthy stuff these days.... when we just happened to walk past one of our friends as he was doing his deliveries, to which Phil said - "well, it would be rude not to - considering he's here in front of us":roll: That man has no willpower :spank: :lol::lol: So ended up back at said friends house and there all good intentions went out the window..... for the rest of the night (rather funny if not manic night !!)

Sun: hungover to hell, went to watch the Ncl v Everton game ---- day didnt get any better....:cry::cry:

Friday - stayed in as Jon had a cold

Saturday - 2hr walk around Wanstead park, then drove to Watford to see my family. had a few drink in town with my friend and her bf.

Sunday - woke up at 5.30am to do a carboot sale. Realised soon after setting up that this was a bad idea. Everyone there was just a bunch of pikeys, noone wanted to pay more than £1 for good quality items! I ended up practically giving things away! So although I got rid of a lot of my old junk, I only made about £40 out of it which was definately NOT worth getting up for!!

Now suffering from a cold too :(

Wag the Dog is hilarious. Great movie.

Friday - Stopped by a gathering of former colleagues for 45 minutes of Karaoke. Attended the Avril Lavigne concert at B1 (surprisingly good show). Afterwards, visited the anniversary party for the club Crisis Genre where my friends' band A French Whore Named Babbette played. Then went to Gazgolder where Bristol's own Jim Rivers played an absolutely blinding set of progressive house with bits of techno. This kid is definitely one to watch.

Saturday - Lazy afternoon around the house, caught up on episodes of the Daily Show, ordered Chinese food delivery. Went to the club Solyanka for fashion-designer-turned-DJ Denis Simachev and (14 years after that time I saw them live) a DJ set by the Utah Saints. Decided afterwards that I'm really not into this nu rave thing. "Something Good" played at 3:48am.

Sunday - Got up late afternoon, went to the sports bar to watch football, followed by grocery shopping and catching up on episodes of Prison Break season 3.

Got to work today to find out a colleague died in a car accident over the weekend. Not the best of days

I did it find it very amusing - but Anne Heche does my napper in so she was the only "downside" to the film..... Dustin Hoffman - excellent in it!!!!!

Sad news about your friend...

Dustin Hoffman stole the show... I guess as a PR guy I found special meaning in the film. Plus it came out not long before Monica Lewinsky/Serbia bombing so it was almost like foreshadowing.
Sad news about your friend...
Very sad story about Alyona. She left behind a young daughter. If you saw my Alaska photos from last year, she was one of the people in them. Really sweet girl... hard to believe it all.

Spent Thursday to Monday in Barcelona :D

Stayed at the Grand Hotel Central (lovely modern hotel with rooftop infinity pool and the bestest hotel breakfast) and spent 5 days seeing friends, sightseeing, shopping, had a day at the beach, went to the Nou Camp to see Barca v Athletico Madrid and went to some lovely restaurants particularly Pla (perfect for romantic meal), Agua (gorgeous restaurant on the beach.......plus our waiter looked like a Spanish Jon Carter ) and La Crema Canela (excellent food and cheap as chips).

Lovely end to the summer :D

Plus when we got home Monday evening we were reunited with our doggies cos they have been staying at my mum and dad's up north for a month while we've been away :D I thought they might have been pining for us but the amount of weight Danny has put on and how spoilt they've been I don't think they missed us in the slightest :spank::lol:

I moved house on friday so Friday night was spent unpacking.

Saturday. Streetrave 18th Anniversay party at The Arches.. John Digweed, Jonathan Lisle,
K-Klass, Altern-8, Shades Of Rhythm. Only seen the last half hour of Lisle (didn't really do it for me) but caught all of Digweed. It was amazing, he tore the place apart.

Sunday. I was in my bed all day . Didn't get to sleep until 9pm, lay in bed twitching all day.

Today. Stripped wallpaper.

you spent the weekend in the gaff watching nothing but "men n motors"?

Friday - Not a lot, late back from work, couple of glasses of wine with dinner and that was that.

Sat - Test drove the Merc from the other thread. I like. However, I've let the salesman sweat for two full days now and he still is offering much off, so we'll have to see.

No game for my team this week so I'd agreed to 'star' for our club's mighty 5th XI. Half an hour past planned kick off time and no opposition or referee. Turns out the league had arranged a replay of a cup game for them but not managed to tell our club:spank:. Complete waster of a Saturday day!

Sat night - I was slaughtered. Was already hammered when I got to The Abbey to see 'highlights and curls' on the decks, more so still when I made to Industry on Curtain Rd for a mates birthday. No idea what time I left, got home or anything.

Sun - Woke up blatantly still drunk at 11.30 remembering I was meant to be at the Arsenal game at 12. Consequently missed first two goals but after half time beers was no longer bothered. All drinking after led to a very tired and emotional Buckers being in some state yesterday!

Friday - went home wanting a lazy evening, was hungover from the night before activities, and generally tired and had a craving for a curry for some reason but my plans of sitting in my pjs eating curry went out the window and I ended up being taken out for a curry which was nice  with my new bf and one of his best mates (who funnily enough I went to infant, junior and senior school with) it really is a small world!

Saturday - went for a haircut, went with my decision of something different so am now sporting a long sleekish bob. Then went up to London for the day with BF and headed for the Tate Modern as I wanted to see the spider statue outside that was featured in one of the free London papers last week, we ended up walking there from Tower Hill as the circle line was out. Was a nice walk though, stopped off at St Pauls on the way and then headed for the gallery. To be honest it probably wasnt the best place to go - for me personally - as im really not a creative and arty person and although some of it was ok some of it was just damn right odd (yes I know thats the idea of some art) but we gave up about 40 mins and decided to head to Madame Tussauds. Had such a laugh in there, we only queued for 20 mins which I didnt think was too bad. For some reason I have always wanted to go just to see what its all about and I had a great day  The Chamber Live bit had to be the funniest thing of the day - I screamed my head off after being targeted by 3 so called "murderers"!!!
Headed to the British Museum for a look around but most of it was shut so had to give that a miss.
Ended up at a a chinese for dinner just off of Chinatown then headed home rather weary from all the walking we had done.

Sunday - felt rather sleepy so mooched about the house all morning, went to local shops to have a look round or window shop as you call it, then had a lazy night with BF watching reruns of Harry Enfield and Chums :p

Great weekend!

Fri - Me and the wife  (dunno why but this still makes me laugh) decided to drive upto manchester that evening due to not wanting to get up at the crack of dawn on the sat to get to the football. 2 1/2 journey from Cambridge was boody good going, got there aboiut 11.15pm, couple of beers in the bar then off to bed.

Sat - Had breakfast, chilled, walked to the ground, met friends who were also going and had an obligatory beer before the match. I'm not going to do a Jonny68 and give a running commentary for you all, but the first half was a little pants, second half we blew them away although to be honest Wigan didn't really turn up.
After match wife wanted to go and see the 'starz and thier carz', saw Rooney and the like..........god how the other half live, they even get there £100k motors driven down to them from where they parked when they got there (which was only about 20 meters away !!!)
Popped to town, had early evening food in The Living Room which was absolutely buzzing at 5pm, then back to hotel to freshen up.
Evening met good friend who had just moved to a new pad round the corner from Deansgate Locks, had wine and chatted and then went to Loaf for a few beers, toyed with the idea of going to Sankeys but glad we didn't as apparently the place was rammed. Got the last metro home and crashed.

Sunday - Travelled back via the Trafford Centre, another clear journey home and then beers in local.

so sorry to hear your news Morbyd

my weekend:

friday - looked after husband suffering from man-flu - tucked him in bed while i tucked into wine and telly. saturday - round the shops for a bit, then friends came over for dinner, more friends joined us later on, so it ended up being a veryverylateindeed evening. sunday struggled with my wineover and met my lil sis for a very late lunch in shoreditch. think i was still a bit under the influence as i drove down not one but TWO one way streets on the way there :oops::lol:
