Weekend Rundowns

did you have a good time at dpercussion - i'm gutted that its over for good, unless something happens - where did you go afterwards? we had grand plans for sankeys but ended up getting trashed at a friends flat8)

aye yeah we had a great day, got ripped off with cocktail tent! but we made up for it! lol
tis a shame that it was last one, was ace having something like that in the centre of the city. we went to joshua brooks afterwards, a club just off oxford rd overlooking the canal, as our mate danny had come up from london to dj, had a mint time in there, was in good company tho, and that always helps!:D

The Big Chill

highlights included:

Isaac Hayes
The Boat at sunrise
John Hegley
Mika Cancelling (the biggest cheer all weekend)
Dan X's chair and gadgets
Sir Norman Jay
Mrs Russ's dresses
Gazebos
being shocked at how fat, old and bitter Sean Hughes has become

i'm afraid BB that the weather was great all weekend. it got a little bit cloudy on sat pm but that really was it. sunshine all the way apart from that. not too chilly at night either. during sir norman's set on sun luchtime it was really too hot to dance.

dunno what of dan's equipment is 'new' but he is certainly always prepared for any eventuality

Why afraid Rusty? There was no schaudenfraude involved - I wished for nothing but sunshine for you my diminutive chum! It was just mate Mark who was down there texted me, on Saturday afternoon, after I'd texted him to report the scorcher we were having in Regent's Park, to say it was a bit cloudy.

I bit Dan was desperate for a downpour!

I went to Fabric and I have vowed NEVER to go there again!
The whole no smoking thing I can accept but having to keep quiet whilst smoking and a time restriction of 6 mins is ridiculous

From men groping to the policing in the toilets. What has this club become?

Friday - Played the decks for a while, drank a lot of Heinken, surfed the net, went to bed.

Saturday - Met my mates and we got a bus to Longford to watch our local team lose 3-0:roll: i lost 90 minutes of my life watching that garbage, back home to Dublin, quick change and into Tripod (VIP as usual on Sat nite) always a good nite in there. definiteloy the best club in Dublin, pi**ing rain when we left:evil: ended up asking these random girls back for a session which went on until the following morning:twisted: until i crashed.

Sunday - Woke up very hungover, watched Celtic draw 0-0 against Killie in a dire game:cry: down the pub met some mates and watched Man United beat Chelsea on pens:) decent enough game even enough as well, went home, shower and change, went to Zanibar where it was classics nite, the resident DJ A Gibbs was excellent until cheesemeister Jeremy Healy came on and proceeded to play commercial type house and cheesy remixes of 1980's tunes:o but overall a good nite, everybody back to ours afterwards where i played the set of the nite on the decks

Monday Bank holiday thank God, done notheing really as it was raining all day:evil:

urgh it's 5 minutes at t-bar - completely ridiculous. I got told to queue again because i was more than 5 minutes  which luckily I managed to avoid.

Also the doors become such a scrum that they just shut them, shutting the smokers out as well as the actual clubbers.

Smoking ban really sucks for some clubs, is a welcome breather for others

I hate it!

we ignored the bouncers and just stayed and had another fag (I'm so classy, don't you know) to be greeted by about 60 people in the smoking queue booing at us 8O

I knew it would be a nightmare in fabric because that place takes ages to get to the exit and always has a complete scrum outside.

Ugh, stupid smoking ban

I think they'll do refurbs eventually to accommodate it.

That's what happened in NYC - they ripped a few of them apart to create comfortable smoking areas.

That's criminal - how can they put a time limit on cigarette breaks - its a fecking club not your place of work!!!:lol::lol:

Its not too bad in Newcastle as Digital is next door to its warm up bar The Other Rooms which has its own large decked outside area - so its just another part of the club to the smokers - stamped hand - out for as long as you want - show the hand - back in the club - jobs a good 'un....
