Weekend Rundowns...

Is there one yet?

Just thought I would start it as mine was soooooo damn dull!

Fri: so tired - fell asleep on sofa by 9.00am

Sat: a certain book came out, became a Harry Potter Widow from 4.00pm ( Phil wasnt allowed to read it until he had attended a 6th birthday party with jelly and ice cream, bouncy castles with me..... with the rest of the children :roll::roll:!)

Sun: still no conversation from the other half - thank god he finished the book at 9.00pm last night......

Friday - local beers

Sat - Lovebox

Sun - Lovebox followed by a dodgy pub on Holloway Road.

Got in at 2am, got up at 5.30am - shattered!

not much to report but here goes anyways:

fri: a few beers post work. then into the queue at the bookshop in kentish town to accompany mrs russ on her harry potter shopping trip. got there at 11.40 to find 100 peeps in the queue in front of us, and most of them were grown ups! got into the shop at bout 12.20 and was sold the book by some wild wizzards. mrs russ stays up till 0300 reading

sat: mrs russ continues reading, she cried on more than one occasion(!) sat eve i went out on the east london/essex borders. i have not been in this part of town (wanstead) for many years. suffice to say that it's not really my scene.

however, if one is interested in meeting slightly shop soiled, slightly desperate thirtysomething women, this is indeed a happy hunting ground

Very quiet weekend for me.

Friday - few drinks after work then home in time to watch the BB eviction with Jon.

Saturday - my mum came round our flat for the first time, treated her to lunch in Wanstead and then spent the day walking around parks and drinking coffee in cafes. Very nice :) Went to the pub with Jon in the evening for a few drinks.

Sunday - Popped round our friends' flat for the day, cooked a bolognese... very boring!!

Bring on Global Gathering these weekends are far too wholesome and quiet!

Fri: Decorating inbetwixt taking great pleasure watching the most miserable so and so ever get evicted from BB. I'm quite annoyed that I have let the misus get me watching some of this years BB:oops:

Sat: Lazyish day, Shelley was out on a girls knees up in Leeds. I met an old pal for beers around some nice bars in Leeds (and one hellhole for good measure :) ). Then on to back2basics, this was my first visit since November and thoroughly enjoyed the night. My best layed plans for after party nonesense were thwarted by me being a lightweight. I simply love back2basics @ Stinkys, real old fashioned club club feel.

Sun: Few beers around the village & a nice ruby last night (the leftovers are being eaten right now :) :) ).

Hosted poker night on friday, which i was delighted to say i cleaned up at8):)

went to hacienda exhibition @ urbis in manchester on saturday day, very good, much recommended.

House party over the road sat night, carried on my passionate affair with cognac.

sunday just felt sorry for myself....

Friday - down to london after a friends birthday drinks. T-bar which wasn't that great - gets a funny crowd in there on fridays it seems, then trailer trash which was great fun as usual. Up til god knows when then sleep..

Saturday: Lovebox after a few drinks at robders, had an excellent time, lots of rides and being silly in secret sundaze and horsemeat tent.

Lost with richie hawtin, magda, troy pierce and others from the minus roster, quite possibly the best night I've ever had EVER - music was genius throughout, perfect venue for it, great big sound system in there too, brilliant. Was VERY sweaty though. Really up for it crowd who loved the music too, no tourists

After lost went to the fabric afterparty at cosmobar which was not a great venue for it (mediocre sound system). By 2pm when none of the fabric residents not the minus people had played except craig richards, although magda and ricardo turned up, we decided to leave.

Spent the afternoon at a friends flat dancing around to richie hawtin and doing elton john impersonations 8O

Then onto T-bar before I decided to go home.

Feel rough as a badgers arse today, although it was definitely worth it

my dad came to stay, so i was treated like the princess all weekend - meals out and presents - yay! saturday we nearly went to lost after an afternoon/evening drinking session, but opted for a last drink on bermondsey street then a stagger home. probably just as well as i'd already had enough to drink, and we had my dad in tow. he seemed well up for it though - must be where i get it from 8O :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D / 10

Friday - Nipped down to Brighton for a charity do for a mates kid. All very civillised, and good fun catching up with old pals.

Saturday - Lovebox - A nice day out, massive revelation that SS was IMO amazing, and completely different to what I remembered it to be:lol:

No Bleepy nonsense, no trendy too cool for school/look at me aren't I WhAcKy kids, not too 'Clapham', just good, nay GREAT house music, mostly techy, even a bit of vocal. Eddie Amador - House Music even got an airing.:D In fairness we were too busy to stick in one place for any length of time, though for the few hours that we were there, I was VERY impressed, and THEN as if that wasn't good enough, last tune of the night, when most of the tents had packed up (and weren't as good (or loud :spank:!) anyways, was Weak Become Heroes, which is possibly one of the best ecstacy moments ever! Even Christopher Reeve would have had his hands in the air on that one!

After that, and Paul Woolford tearing the arse out of Exit, it's like my whole musical belief system has been shattered

Other highlights - Beardyman 8)8) (human beatbox), The outside of HMD reminding me of Glasto (tho never made it actually inside - too much else on and too much of a q).

Oh, and Blondie8O8O8O8O8O8O I know she used to be a looker, but seriously, stick to your memories of her, and don't see any footage of her on stage at the weekend! All I can remember thinking it was like Pat Butcher had nicked all her daughters clothes, and then put her makeup on with tools from the local builders merchants! Still, we caught a few tunes from her, then dived off to Tiga, who was bang on form as usual (if a little quiet!).

Did see a couple of kids get carted off by undercover OB for dealing, so it was good to see a little bit of the Ibiza vibe make it's way over here.:spank:

After that popped up to the Cross, which was nicely (i.e. not too!) busy, though production values normally seen at Halo do's gone by was lacking. Still, had a good night, and managed to have the power to resist the Egg and get mysef home8)

Sunday - More of the same, can wholeheartely recomend Mr Hudson and the Library - next big thing, you heard it here first! More mooching around, dodgems, Robder, bumping into a few old faces, and got dragged to a bar round the corner for an afterparty that went on til 3ish. Urgh!

Johnny come lately! Anyway, there not as good as they used to be, I was into them before they were formed etc.

Seriously though, they were wicked weren't they? When MC Brandy came on at the end it was brilliant.

Haha, I'll let you have that one ;). Your sole musical contribtion to my life has indeed been a positive one. Downloading a tale of two cities now.

Agreed though. Dead stylish too. Which begs the question...;)

:D

Man what a messy drunken weekend, i literally didn't stop drinking all weekend,i wouldn't mind i didn't even plan on going anywhere:lol:

Friday - So im at home with a few bottles nice and relaxed when my mate demands i go into town to see Mr Nex aka Mark Archer from Altern-8 play an old skool Techno and Bleep set in town,so i thought why not and jump into a taxi, delighted i went in now as it was a storming nite, place was heaving,a sweatbox,i think i was the only geezer in Rogue who wasn't pilled up to the eyeballs:lol:,great nite, got horrendously drunk.

Saturday - Hungover but got up and had a liquid lunch :lol:met the lads, some Wolves fans over as they were playing us in a friendly on the Sunday and one of my mates is a Wolves fan so he was entertaining them, all sound lads up for the craic, they went along to see us play a boring 0-0 draw with Derry City, anyway brought the Wolves lads into Temple Bar,i really try and avoid Temple Bar as it's really only for tourists and at 6 fuc*ing euro a drink8O it's an absolute rip off but anyway we went in and greeted by the usual English lads on stag nites falling over drunk, English girls on hen nites falling over drunk:lol: American tourists just there to take in the atmosphere, and everyone in between but it was a great laugh, and the good thing about Temple Bar is you get to meet so many different people from different countries which i like.

Sunday - Woke up hungover, another liquid lunch:lol: stayed in the pub, didn't fancy going to the game in that weather, was only a friendly anyway, the Wolves lads were all hungover from the previous nite but we brought them into the Foggy Dew in town where there was a Reggae and Ska band on,moved around to Temple Bar again for more punishment:lol: packed again with tourists, and the obligatory Dublin lads out to score drunk English girls:lol:,tis all a bit hazy after 1am,vaguely remember paying a tenner into the Viper Room club with one of the Wolves lads, but the bouncers wouldn't let the rest of the lads in so we had a pint and left,i bid them farewell as i got a taxi home, jaysus ive spent over €500 this weekend alone,a very expensive and drunken weekend:lol::lol:

Friday - Had dinner, went to Denis Simachyov bar for pre-party drinks, then to club Rai (which unfortunately had one of my least favorite Moscow DJs, DJ Dan, playing ). Satisfied a craving for blini (Russian crepes) on the way home.

Saturday - Got a couple hours sleep and rushed to the airport for my flight to St Petersburg. Met a buddy for beers at a cafe outside the Kazan Cathedral. Went back to the apartment his friends had rented for a little nap. Then we grabbed some dinner and took this boat:

for a 2.5 hour party cruise to this fort:

on an island in the Gulf of Finland, to attend this party:

Absolutely amazing time. Every DJ I saw was in top form - Moonbootica, Cattaneo, Sanchez, Grad, Touche, Mike Spirit, Spy.Der. Got photos here and two video clips.

Sunday - Caught a taxi from the party back to St Pete and straight onto shuttle to the airport. Flew to Moscow, stopped by Ikea to pick up a couple of things on the way home from the airport (that is an especially odd experience when not quite sober), took an hour nap, met my landlord to pay rent, went out to dinner with a couple of friends, cleaned up the apartment and crashed.

I am loving Cattaneo lately. Massive at Renaissance last month and at Fort as well. I very nearly annointed him my new "Bestest DJ in Da World!" until I went up to the 2nd room for Sanchez afterwards!

Oh noooooooooooooooo really Dan? I saw some pics of her at the Appollo last week and they weren't great either. When I saw her a little while ago she looked great and wasn't "dolled up" at all.

But Pat Butcher ... really 8O:cry::cry:

Am loving the fact you are resisting Egg :lol:
