Weekend Rundowns

Bit of a mad weekend for me (mad as in good). I'll try and keep it brief.

had a load of nutters from another forum (2 from London, 1 from Sweden and 1 from Buffalo, NY!) come up to Dundee for Silicone Soul at Headway at our local haunt the reading rooms. Tbh, I cant really remember much about the night, other than that I had a great time. Afterparty we then found a warehouse party (not really a warehouse party, more like an old abandoned building) in the locale.

Pub for the old firm game, then on to Glasgow (no accomodation booked). Went to the subclub, again, I was away with it thanks to a daytimes worth of drinking, but I had a good night nonetheless. We met a couple of birds in there who let us kip at their house that night (as well as giving us their booze and making us breakfast in the morning - result!).

Monged about hungoverly in town during the day in Osmosis, the eurohostel bar, not the fanciest of Glasgow pubs but casualty friendly with big couches and quite quiet, as well as big screens for the football. Was good until the football finished and instead of sticking a CD on they put on Radio1 for the chart show - wtf?!?).

Went up to my cousins for a few drinks and a shower, then met up with the rest of the folks who were down. Moved on to the Arches (now with Funktion 1 sound system) and caught Silicone Soul (managed to remember the set this time) as well as DJ-T and Booka Shade who were both outstanding, as well as brief spells dancing to James Holden while I walked to and from the bar.

The girls who had put me and Bartonious up met up with us again, and we got a second nights free accomodation (8)). Monged about all Monday, more tired than anything else, grabbed a pizza before heading home quite late on. Got in on Monday night at 10pm, feeling very tired but otherwise pretty good.

All in a quality weekend, in a great mood just now :)

Going back down to Glasgow for Aril Brikha at the SubClub this Saturday, cant wait!

:spank: Bring on Yeovil Town in the play-offs

Sarah, I thought you were from S****horpe and therefore a fan of their's,hence my confusion on Friday over who you were supporting:roll:
I've seen Forest 3 times this season, once at City and then on 2 other occasions as part of **cough** customer entertaining (10th the price of Chelsea and just as good). I think they are definately good enough to go up.You might find Yeovil hard to break down at home but I think you'll have the better of them back at Forest.Blackpool will be the team to overcome at wembley. I have already committed to my friend and her sister that I will sort out some wembley "entertainment" should they get there, so see you there;)

I am originally from a little village near S****horpe but I have supported Forest since I was a little girl for my sins.

I thought it was guaranteed they would go up this season, I even put a Bet Ferd  on them at the start of the season but the second half of the season was pretty disappointing :? Fingers xd for the 27th May :D

I hear what you are saying but I still think they are a quality team and probably the most likely to stay up of the 3 should they progress into the championship with S****horpe and City.A big city team with such a great stadium deserves to be in the higher league:)

Well well well, what an absolutely faberooni weekend!

Thursday night was spent in a cheesy bar in the city for a mates leaving drinks. Took the vomit Comet (last train!) home, and wasn't at my most productive at work on Friday I must admit!

Fri evening was spent sorting oneself out for the carnage of the proceeding few days....

Saturday - After doing my duty and visiting my Nan in the morning (not the carnage bit!) I went over to join the sexual crew, had a bit of expert food, delivered a bit of sexy erotic nightwear to a friend ;), and then headed over to Gurnmills for the main event of Morales at Def Mix.

Got there around 11, Norman Jay was perfect background music whilst we had a drink and waited for the place to warm up, then picked our spot for Danny Retirement to come on, who I've now decided is in the perfect position of being in such great demand, though now he does his sets so rarely, he can absolutely tear it up with new stuff and a lot of the classics (becasue it will always be a special occasion). And smash it he did!

By the time Morales came on, I thing a few of us were a bit upset at the time that Danny was finishing, as it was just SO good. We had all not stopped dancing for the last 3 hours, and I don't think I wanted to risk anyone else coming on and perhaps not being as good as our favourite DJ pensioner.

(Somwhere about now we were also met with the special surprise of Baron Ken and Alec Baldwin making a welcome appearance!);)

So Morales comes on, mixes out Dannys last record to the beats, does the normal superstar dj chatter about thanking everyone blah blah blah, and then the the piano bit of Needin' U comes in, and everyone looks at each other and goes absolutely mental, the hands went in the air, and I don't think they came back down until the end. Just tune after tune after tune. All the Morales classics got played, even Space Cowboy, his Honey remix and Plastic Dreams, though as it was Morales and Turnmills, and a whatever celebration it was, it just worked so well! It seems silly to say it because Morales really excels himself with the tunes, but he was just technically awesome. On all accounts he outdid every (very high) expectation i had of him.
I must admit there were a few tunes which were a bit close to the bone cheese-wise, though as my pal said to me, you are not alone, I'm also on the verge of losing my religion of the god of Morales, though by the time they got played, we were hooked and he could do no wrong, and it all seemed so right!

Oh, and the indoor fireworks (just one loud gunshot-like-BANG!) nearly finished me off, and has taken at least 10 years of my life off me!:spank:

Afterwards I went through the 'standard' (possibly the most ridiculous word to use to describe what we got up to!) aftershow antics, where far too much went on to go into any detail, save the fact I found out one of my pal has dragged me to Siberia under the pretence of some 'festival' just to hook up and seduce Danny Tenaglia!

Fell asleep lat Sunday watching a documentary on the formation of the Village People, and carried on the theme of dubious film entertainment on the Monday before getting the transatlantic sleeper service home!

All in all a great weekend. I'm slowly coming round to the idea of this bank holiday malarky, roll on the next one...!

'Why has nobody ever thought of doing this before'

 Just make sure you remember to take ear-plugs 8O

sat:went to slaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaang on sat night. great proper dirty warehouse ting with glow sticks and everyting. tough as funk music. great to see mark sun and el buckeroo. must admit i did wimp out quite early but twas funda-mental.

sun: we spent trolling round shoreditch. the big chill bar and the light bar were our main haunts. the light was not anywere near as rubbish as i was expecting. nice crowd and no pretentious, over/under dressed twattys. excellent last set from tech house maestro nathan coles.

mon: got a cat. the lovely ellie now lives chez rustywoo and is gonna fit in very well i think:):)

friday nigth had a pizza take away with the girlies at gelis home, after messing around with make up and clothes and everyone decided about a special outfit we went to the second week of the feria de abril( fair) , I wasn't dissapointed, it was brilliant, drunk lots of vodkas, things got really messy I really enjoyed it! saw lots old friends! and made new acquiantaces. As per usual in the feria de abril people was really drunk, I was!!! lots of good feeling, there is allways a very good vibe and the crowd is allways fantastic! Best part of the nigth: while all the fair was closing everyone remain in the fairground and a very drank boy came came and sang to us, you could ask him wathever song you wished and he even made some remixes, I couldn't stop laughing!

Good to hear Def Mix party Pt 2 was good. I can defnitely say Pt 1 was brilliant.

Wasnt expecting much as the Gallery crowd usually likes it more trancey and slightly harder, but they were well up for the music on friday.
Top of the bunch was Hector Romero. A really good tough sounding proggy set. Kept the main room pretty much rammed till 7 which is quite rare these days. Earlier Satoshie Tomie (sp?) kept us happy with a more subtle techy set.

Missed the others in the main room as I caught most of King Unique's 2 hours in T2.. at long last they impressed me. They have disapointed so many times, but last friday were spot on.

Here's a visual story of my time at the Slaang party

Why can't I post pictures anymore?

Big fan of Satoshi. I've never been disapointed by his sets.

I definitely would have had to go to 2 nights of Def Mix... had I been in London this weekend
