Weekend Rundowns

Friday -

Usual DJ gig but partner in crime couldn't make it so was flying solo until a 'guest' dj arranged by the owner rolls in and proceeds to empty the place with the worst demonstration of drum and bass combined with utter lack of knowledge on sound level control. The red lights are a warning sonny, not a target. . Eventually the cross fader is snapped by this muppet's mate who had joined him and it's time for them to vacate the booth....

Back on and the place eventuially get's more people back in, although sadly the chuckle brothers stayed and eventually decided to 'offer me out' once they's sunk enouh drink to pluck up the courage.

I don't need this, seriously thinking about jacking this place in....

Saturday -

The girls were away to Devon so went out with some close friends locally. No idea why but I ended up trying to walk home at 3am and got lost on a housing estate by myself. No idea what time I got in but Sunday was a write off and my Friend's truck is still on the drive so I guess he was suffering too...
(On the plus side, it's one of these and I have the keys:)

Was very nearly a disaster, but turned out to be a great weekend.

Friday
Still on a high from Wednesday's football shenanigans, two tickets in the top drawer for Zabiela and Fanciulli in Dublin, first night's clubbing this year, all set for a great one - until it emerges that the tickets are not in the drawer. Cue two hours of frantic searching, at the end of which it turns out they have been in the pocket of my work trousers for over a week. It is now much too late to get the bus as planned, but miraculously I remain alive long enough to drive down to my brother's house in Kildare (to make matters worse, we get lost on the way) and his housemate kindly offers us a lift into the city. Have never been clubbing in Dublin before and this gets the thumbs-up, Tripod is a quality venue, all bare stone balls and Funktion One, and we get some fantastic acid house and decent techno, although the crowd is a bit strange - a lot of standing about, not enough dancing and a cheer for virtually every mix for some reason. Afterwards, the streets are almost as busy as they are in the middle of the afternoon, for some reason it is possible to hire a rickshaw (whose drivers get some dreadful abuse) or a horse and cart (one very drunk woman is hanging onto a horse's head in a vain effort to maintain a vertical position) and unlike Belfast, we don't see any fights on the 25 minute walk to the bus stop.

Saturday
Sleep. Get up and go to the pub - my brother's town, Maynooth, is best known for training priests, so there are plenty to choose from. Eventually head back into Dublin, eat tapas, realise we are far too knackered for this so head back to his to watch An Inconvenient Truth and live Therapy? and Manic Street Preachers videos.

Sunday
Earlyish start. Given the problems map-free driving caused on Friday, we decide to take the hit and pay the toll on the motorway. Take a detour to the Mourne Mountains for a bit of a walk, then another to go to my gran's for dinner, eventually get back to Belfast and more or less head straight to bed.

In-laws were there when i got home from work on friday, and were still there when I left this morning.

:):)/10

Friday - Went out quite late to a club id never been in before, some nice Space Disco music

Brought a fair few troops back to mine and got through a ridiculous amount of booze. Saturday afternoon lots more people turned up and were lucky enough to have a great day up here for sitting in the garden. Not sure what my neighbours will make of it all.

Up town to Reading Rooms saturday night, by this point i was very drunk indeed. Then everyone came back to the house (again) and we continued like that until we needed more booze. This continued throughout Sunday and then we had yet another silly party last night which involved numerous people parading around the house wearing my parents' clothes etc.

Felt well flakey this morning, took me a good 4 hours to get to sleep. Thankfully off today. House is a bit of a tip, but nothing that cant be sorted out, i do have a week to do it. Good weekend though, well s****y...

Lets.....Do.....The.....TIMEWARP....AGAAAAAAIIIIIIN

The best large scale dance event I have ever been to, nuff said.

Without getting a bit Oprah on everyone - I did think last night have I done the right thing as he is proposing everything now, moving in together, said he will move down here, really misses me, would do anything for me :?

But I keep telling myself it just smells of fakeness.

I wish the sun would shine, in inspiration of yesterdays lovely day I am wearing sunny yellow today - and it rained

Fri - Samuels Chop House, Label and then onto Club V on Deansgate in Manchester for a 4am finish. Music got a bit samey Electro towards the end at the club with too many quick mixes. Back to my mates for a warmed up curry.

whoo hooo - someone goes to a pub and club i can relate to shocker!:)

bless the chop houses sam and thomas. proper pubs.

Went to tranmere vs carlisle. proper 'football', not the 'entertainment' that the premier has become (from a liverpool fan). then took my manc friends of a tour of local scenic spots. dinner at whatscooking.

sunday, disertation and sit worrying about the operation i have now had on my ankle. high as a kite on painkillers so apols if i get a bit excited!

why mate, what have you done??:?

14 months tore a ligament in the back of my ankle playing rugby. That would'nt be so much of a problem, but i am one of 10% of people who have an additional bit of bone at the back of the ankle sooo...it never healed properly as it was always catching it. cue yesterday when they cut me up and removed the bit of bone. its like a wisdom tooth in size i tell thee!

it ended my rugby career (as it was) but the positive is that the said dissertation is in for a week friday..and i am signed off until.....;) !

Firstly, well done Emma! (I will note that I was the first one to suggest this course of action in your advice thread ;)). Now I guess we need to help find you a more suitable companion!

My weekend
Friday - Karaoke with some former colleagues after work. Many many beers. Then to a warehouse party with Seb Fontaine headlining. I got there as a band called Cicada was playing (quite enjoyed it) and then Seb came on and rocked the place. Trentemoller sicked out but the guy he was supposed to go back-to-back with, DJ T.O.M., held up the fort. Over to Club Mix for afters.

Saturday - Woke up mid-afternoon and watched Arsenal/Liverpool and ManU-Blackburn through the Internet. Went to SportLand for the Chelsea match. Back home and unexpectedly passed out early.

Sunday - Packed. Flew to the Russian Far East. Arrived on Monday afternoon (9 hour time difference, 9 hour flight) and got very frightened as we drove across the puddle-covered frozen bay from the airport to the city (unseasonably warm weather not inspiring confidence).
