Weekend rundowns

Don't get me wrong I really enjoyed myself and like grego it was quite a new experience for me. I think perhaps if I was down in the "mosh pit" I would have perhaps felt a different atmosphere, however I think I prefered going home with a dry T shirt as opposed to one covered in p1ss from the endless numbers of people "recycling" their beer back into the plastic glass and launching it across the crowd8O

While we're on the subject what other gigs are currently worth going to, I do like a live event8)

have a look on www.seetickets.com , which is a good reputable site for searching through acts with tix on sale or who are currently on tour.

even if they are sold out, i'd recommend going on ebay and picking out the most suitable venue/gig and then playing the game. normally in the week or so before the gig you can get tix for face value or less. people like razorlight, kaisers, etc are on tour at the mo.

Any specific acts stand out at the moment for someone not knowledgable on the indie scene? Someone said to me going to see a band with at least 2 albums behind them is a minimum since you end up with an hour long gig that never really gets going? I bough the Editors cd a while a go which I really like but they would fall out of the latter prerequisit:?

Bring on the PSB in May (what happened to that thread btw?)

I love that CD they are probably at a few festivals this year.

Kaiser Chiefs could be good to see. First album is really good and the second one has just come out.

Hmmm, maybe I will have to try a festival this year, out of interest is V indie only or does it have dance as well?

I went to see the Fratelli's at Brixton Academy last night and accidentally stayed in the pub too long and missed half the gig. Like you say, a relatively new act isn't going to play a very long set. The upside is you get to see them in a smaller venue.

Mostly but it has the Strongbow and Bacardi tents which are dance tents, most people off their faces by lunchtime raving about, is quite amusing

They have Basement Jaxx there this year, and Fatboy Slim was there last year on the Sat night so there is a few dance things. But its mostly indie and a bit of pop (ie Pink, Lily Allen etc)

Thanks Emma, now all I need to do is round up some others to go :)

here ya're! http://www.vfestival.com/index.html?pid=2124 i'll be there!8)

it is indie but with the basements, kanye, mondays and madman gillespie, things are interesting!8)

on ebay you can buy tix for the one in staffordshire for only about £10-20 above face value. go do it!

the ones for the chelmsford are £60-80 more than face value.

That will include one of my friends trying to flog hers on Ebay tut tut

Some of my friends meant to buy Chlm but bought Staffs instead

Don't know about that. I saw Razorlight and The Killers 2 years ago, and they were both nothing short of amazing (though I do have notoriously as basic/poor tastes in indie music as I have in (some) house!)

Editors are cool. A bit samey, though I'd pay good money just to see Munich performed live.

Muse would be my next dream gig atendance. I couldn't tell you the names of any of their songs (apart from the AMAZING Knights of Cydionia), though only hear nothing but good things about them live.

Lorna got free tickets for Muse at Wembley Stadium but unfortunately it clashes with the wedding of the year!
