Weekend Rundowns

Fri - lauras aunt was coming over from Holland, so dinner and drinks at a relatives - flight delay meant we barely saw the Dutch contingent

Sat - Bloc Party @ Barrowland - cracking gig, whistled through a great set. only downer was the mini-scuffle with 1 chap being knocked out cold and his assailant disappearing into the crowd

Sun - footie, bloody awful game but a win. then food at the inlaws

brandon's voice is faultless live, everything was just top quality, spot on.

Fri - Went for a meal in an "up and coming" area of Bristol it was touted as being a Barcelona inspired tapas style bar and restaurant and it didn't disappoint
It really is so true that places slightly out of the trendy and cool mainstream area's try that bit harder on both the standard of the food and the service.
The highlight of the night in comedy terms was my friend Mark, in a sudden rush of enthusiasm biting the head off a post Valentines rose at the table and proceeding to eat it He later complained of it repeating on him

Next, we moved on to a club (that I haven't been to for 16 years) called the Thekla which is a permanently positioned Boat with 3 levels. The night was called Play and has Mikey Finn and Deepgrove playing. I usually don't bother going out in Bristol because I prefer going out in London and in Bristol most of the nights are commercial sh1te or big name dj's playing in Chaved up clubs
This was completely different and really was excellent.The crowd was a really friendly proper clubbing crowd, the music was spot on and the venue as cool as it ever was.8)

Full marks to the clubs drink policy too pints of water free at the bar and given without a sneer (like some clubs when you ask) and if you choose to buy a bottle of water it was only £1 bottle. I nearly fell off my chair when I was given £2 change for the fiver I had exchanged for a Vodka and (full can) Redbull

Sat - Stayed in and watched Lucky number Sleven (very enjoyable)

Sun - Long talk walk which was full of drama with one dog getting attacked by a Bull terrier that had slipped out of his muzzle.Really frightening as the dog had clamped its jaw into the back of my dog and we couldn't open its jaw:x
Spent the rest of the day sorting out my fishtank,nearly fell in at one point

Sun - Long talk walk which was full of drama with one dog getting attacked by a Bull terrier that had slipped out of his muzzle.Really frightening as the dog had clamped its jaw into the back of my dog and we couldn't open its jaw:x

With mine the baby (as we call her as she's so cute) is on the left on the beach pic and the bad boy is on the right

Although it's fair to say she is the brains and I'm convinced just encourages him to be naughty.....like at school when the kid who always got in trouble had usually be put up to it by someone else

Ours is the other way round - Danny the boy dog is the best behaved dog in the world whereas Lottie the girl dog is sooooo minxy

Had another trip to the mountains for some snowboarding.. the snow was incredible... fresh.. powder all over the mountain..

Went out with a friend for some yummy Indian food.

Was supposed to go see Donald Glaude at an after hours, type club.. but had no ambition to go out as the club is just plain crap.

Its a holiday Monday here so off to do some x-country skiing and go shopping for a new bike

You're quite correct Sir it was of course Micky Slim and not the mad as a hatter Micky Finn who I think I was mixing up because he is originally from Bristol and named himself after a well know Bristol late night Eatery

You're right about deepgrove they always play such good sets, I like the fact that they play tunes which are crowd pleasers and get everyone going they don't limit themselves to the latest misc CDr's only in a bid to be cool.
You know Grayson don't you? I seem to recall a random conversation with him about you at some point in the past

Actually they are both Parsons Russell's although you could be forgiven for thinking they are completely different breeds.Ruby has a smooth coat and Bertie has a wirey coat which my wife insists is removed every spring to make him look like a dalmation puppy (he has lots of black spots that show up when he's clipped). I actully think Bertie is really a border terrrier in a white coat because his mannerisms and noises he make are identical to that breed and nothing like Parsons!

Although Bertie tends to get in trouble you are quite right that it is the Ruby who is the minxy one, in fact she constantly is but just more crafty and doesn't get caught.

Bertie looks like a typical Parsons (we nearly got a Parsons from the rescue place) whereas Ruby has that minxy Jack Russell look about her I love all Terriers, when I am a grown-up I just want to live in a big house with 43856235 terriers

me boring, said yes to swap a shift with a colleague who wanted saturday off, so cancelled my late friday nite party - need the cash as I managed to spend roughly 1000 pounds on clothes in 14 days. :x - so no party for IG the next days to come
