Fri - me and Tom both had the day off, after a nice relaxing day we headed into town as we had a table booked at The Ivy. The food at The Ivy was as amazing as ever and you can see why it deserves its reputation as one of the best restaurants in London Town. After stuffing myself with gnocchi and the yummiest fish, chips and mushies and a couple of bottles of wine and some celeb spotting we then headed up the road to the Aldywch Theatre for Dirty Dancing :D Dirty Dancing was everything I expected and more - Baby was excellent and Johnny just oused sex  The 2 and a half hours of the show was definitely the time of my life  Boys take your g/friends and you'll have bs guaranteed for life  Incidentally tho Tom's view on it was that it was 'the biggest pile of $hit he'd ever seen in his life' After the show finished we then jumped in a taxi and headed up to Turnmills cos I thought Tom deserved some Oakie action after putting up with Dirty Dancing  Got into Turnmills for 11 and met up with lots of the usual suspects - just time for a couple of quick drinks cos the monkey man was playing at midnight. Oakie was absolutely fantastic - a proper Oakie of old set with some classics like Greece 2000 and Somebody like you thrown in along new trance. After Oakie I found the music quite average at Turnmills - your usual proggy dull $hit  We left Turnmills at about 6am and everyone came back to ours. The next 20 hours were complete carnage - there was Lucozades, bank scams  , playgrounds, head weighing  and lots of other things that are best kept inside our 4 walls   Watched some of the cricket and finally got to bed at 3am Sunday morning.

Sunday - For some reason woke up early  so back on the wine, then hit the pub for a massive veggie roast, bloody Marys and vinos and then back to my cave for a massive Gollum-like sleep

Friday: Down the pub for a few drinks followed by dinner at a friends where lots of people I'd not seen for ages were, was lovely. Early night for me as I was tired after a long and stressful week 8O

Saturday: Dinner with a friend followed by erol alkan which was brilliant

Sunday: Up late and work from late afternoon until 8pm or so  Got home in time to watch planet earth and zoolander 8)

Friday - was still drunk from Thurs so went to bed early, played street fighter 2 and watched Russel Brand.

Saturday - woke up, played street fighter 2, went to Shoreditch and spent £200 on clothes (to the value of £700) - Maharishi and All Saints both had sample sales on...so no one got Christmas presents.:lol::lol:
Went for coffee afterwards to rid myself of the guilt...with Richard from big brother of all people. I kid you not. 8O ( at me bragging at zzz list, half baked celebrity encounters!)
In the evening we went to Anti Social - have been looking forward to this for ages...the venue is one of the best I've ever seen in London - just perfect.
As expected, the crowd was full of intentional fashion disasters...which at first glance was, "Oooh how cool is this?" but soon enough, this melted into, "If I see another fashion student/hoxton wannabee sneering in stupid clothes I'm going to scream."
Music was pants, got drunk, promptly left and fell onto street shouting, "IT'S RUBBISH!" at all the snooty fashion student in the queue courting death stares from the snobby door selectors and a cross Pilchard.

Sunday - woke up, played street fighter 2, went for a roast at the big chill and bumped into two veeery messy friends in Brick Lane market. Went to Hoxton bar and got leathered and managed to avoid Boombox. :D Well done me.

Sat was our wee housewarming party. got our xmas tree delivered in the morning-hooray. spent the day buying booze and food and generally preparing. the party was, if i may say so, a huge success. our freinds were fairly well behaved, broke nothing, stole nothing but did, weirdly, get through two and a half toilet rolls!!!
as the party wound down at about 2am, we went to a big irish pub on Holloway road to listen to cheesy music and dance some more

sun: tidied up and looked at the huge amount of food we had left.

  pmsl! you sent me several texts singing it's praises!

Friday - busy night. First out to dinner with the missus - actually, 2 dinners (first Japanese for her, then Italian for me ). Then we saw the Bond movie Casino Royale which I thought was quite decent.

Afterwards we went to a small pre-opening party for what will eventually be an after-hours club called Faktura that a friend of ours is opening. Then on to the grand opening of another club (with the unfortunate name B1 Maximum) where Felix da Housecat was playing. Very short set :( but he was ably followed by Russian techno master Anton Kubikov (aka SCSI 9). Later over to club Mix for afterhours where Kubikov also headlined.

Saturday - Went to a friend's housewarming party. Then to the opening of yet another new club called Cisterna. Great venue and great tech house tunes by American DJ Jeff Samuels and Germany's Tigerskin. Breakfast at a nearby Chinese restaurant then home to pass out.

Sunday - Did a bit of grocery shopping. Made a pot of spicy Lagman (Central Asian lamb stew) with homemade hand-rolled noodles :D Watched Pride & Prejudice on DVD and several episodes of the Daily Show.

I saw Richard t'other day thought he was much better looking in the flesh! ;)

pretty uneventful weekend for me!

  pmsl! you sent me several texts singing it's praises!

You still have to go! But only if you're in the mood for wedging your tongue firmly in your cheek before entering.
It's Shoreditch at its absolute worst/best - depending on your view of the place. ;)

(and free)

((not that the previously mentioned door whore will let me in again))

(((definately not NYE tho - urgh)))
