Heavy drinking in 3 cities for me this weekend
Friday - Pre-opening party for a new club called 1171. Great venue. Good tunes. Very strong rum and cokes.
Then to club Mio for Francois K. Great tunes. Very strong free rum and cokes from some random people we met.
Saturday - Slept 4 hours before going to airport (overslept by an hour and kept my driver waiting

). Pain. Dragged myself onto airplane to pass out. Flew to London and, thanks to horrendous traffic, barely made it to Chelsea v West Ham game. Lackluster affair, but 3 pts in the bag.
After-match drinks at a Chelsea bar with friends turned into a boozy dinner at some Japanese place north of Soho. Stumbling out onto the street (literally), decided to go to Ministry of Sound for Xpress 2 but then realized I wasn't going to last very long (excessive booze, jetlag) and changed direction halfway there.
Sunday - Had found out Friday that my brother was visiting from the States, in Newcastle on business. Hadn't seen him in almost 2 years so decided to take the train up north. Was reminded how crappy the UK train system is (delays, insane ticket prices, no seats, etc.).
Great afternoon/night out in Newcastle.

First we walked around and looked at stuff (city walls, churches, the castle) then hit the pub for a roast dinner and some football, then another pub, then some cheesy nightclub (Sam Jack's), another cheesy nightclub (Boom), then a Hed Kandi party at another nightclub (Beyond). We tried to go to Digital but it was closed, so we closed out the evening in a club called the Loft.
Caught the 4:20 train back to London and had a very rough day at work on Monday.
