Weekend Rundowns

Another weekend has passed too quickly. Did you remember to change your clocks?

Friday - After work, made dinner and watched the two latest episodes of Lost. Went over to a friend's place for one drink then off to see Underworld in concert. :D GREAT SHOW!! They played for 3 hours, and while as a performance it's little more than a DJ, a sound engineer and a vocalist, it was musically top notch. They did a great version of Three Months Off, which is a personal favorite. Stuck around for a bit of DJ Anton Kubikov's set afterwards, then to club Mix for after hours.

Saturday - Got home at 8, slept until 2, got up and ready to go with the missus to the sports bar for Sheffield v Chelsea. Stuck around to watch the Liverpool game (and, on various nearby screens, Man U, Arsenal and Tottenham). Then home to change for a Halloween party - I went as the Crow (easy homemade costume ) and Irina as a French maid.

The Russians do Halloween right. I don't know where else they celebrate the occasion so well... some of the wildest costume parties I've seen anywhere, and this year was no exception. We went to a party held in a slighty spooky abandoned factory headlined by Junkie XL (of Elvis remix fame) and Darren Emerson. Junkie played a very good set of dance tunes while Emerson came on later and launched into some dark progressive stuff.

Back to Mix for afters but only for a couple of hours, then home.

Sunday - Woke up at 3. Made a big pot of spaghetti sauce. Otherwise, basically surfed the net and lazed around all day.

Fri - drinks in Soho with lots of the usual suspects for Ray-lo's birthday. Me and Rach managed to leave at a civilised hour cos I had my mum and dad visiting first thing Saturday.

Sat - had a lovely day with my mum and dad - it was the first time they'd met the doggies and seen my ring, went shopping with them and out for lunch. In the evening I must have not been feeling right cos I said 9 words that have never come out my mouth before - 'Babe I want to go to the cinema tonight' 8O  I'd just finished reading The Devil wears Prada and it had made me laugh lots that I got the urge to see the film. Tom took me out for dinner and fed me lots of wines to ease the shock of going to the cinema for the first time in about 3 years 8O Enjoyed the film but didn't think it was a patch on the book, altho I did like some of Ann Hathaway's costumes

Sun - huuuugeee lie-in, bit more Christmas shopping  and then went to my new fave pub in the world - the Defector's Weld for a Carter speciality veggie roast and lots of bloody Marys and spritzers.

Fri: Quiet'ish night in - bed at a reasonable hour 8O

Sat: Work, then into town to pick up some clothes i ordered from Limey's, some food shopping in M & S, then took my chances to head towards an electricians i needed in Sharrow and got stuck for 1.5 hours in the Blades/Chelsea gridlock :x. Quick session in gym, chilled for a bit until friends came round for late night drinks.

Sun: Up and out for breakfast. Bit of a disaster really - our favourite place was shut for refurb so proceeded to next best which was VERY busy so waited an hour to eat which is not good cos when i'm hungry  - anyhow got 50% knocked off for wait. Off to the G-Star shop, bought i wicked jacket (going to buy another next week :D ), went to look at for computer desk for home but undecided, saw an ace kitchen table (hmmmm :?: ), big food shop then raced over to our local organic fruit/veg shop to stock up on stuff for our 'Juicer' but had just closed - more hunger! :( Off to gym for quick half hour CV then ate lots, few drinks and bed.

Mon: Very tired despite extra hour in bed! :?:

Saturday bbq, footy and drinks at a friends
Sunday: barça basketball match and a nice lunch al fresco with Pep

oh dear oh dear oh dear...

friday - went to brighton to see a native indian woman who travels from the UK to Wyoming once a year to teach westerners about Indigenous ways...more interesting than it sounds i promise. Spent the whole of the following day in a state of niceness.

saturday - met some old friends for coffee in the north laine - lamented about how much i miss lazy daytimes in brighton and got the train back to Londinium.
Went to a friend's 30th in his beautiful penthouse flat in Kennington - wow. What I wouldn't give! (even if it was in the wong part of town ).
eventually got home feeling very holier than thou having managed to avoid all toxins (bar wine).
met nick back at the bunker and went to trade.

still the most filthy, horrible, disgusting, depraved club London has ever seen. just completely insane. spent most of it holding onto my head for fear that my brains would spill out on the dancefloor. in fact, i think most people were.
i can't believe they only do them about twice a year these days. sooo sad  - but probably a good thing.
god i love that place!...had a genuine accident too (completely 100% genuine this time) - accidentally got in a bit of a state and stayed that way till 10pm .
Happy day one of detox.

Not sure if Nick managed to get home :? worried:?

Cant believe i didnt bump into you  we were there from about 7 till 12

We decided to go to trade after Jaded wouldnt let us in without ID.. wtf??!!!

Anyway Trade more than made up for it.. Jesus, i was in histerics from the moment we walked in till the moment we went home. Saw about 4 people being carried outside by medics, saw countless pvc hotpants with gaping holes showing bum cheeks. Spent most of the night in the 3rd room, the others were a bit too intense shall i say

Wildchild the night before was ok, but certainly not my thing!

That would be why...we didn't even go in there.
Spent about 8 hours in the middle of the mosh pit on the main floor screaming for help.

Sat - i went to the Warehouse Project in Manchester to see De La Soul, who were excellent and am now tempted to go see them again on wednesday in Leeds.:D 8) 8)

Played all the old classics and some newer stuff and was jsut a really good event............something different from a usual club night.:D

   Who was the best set @ Wildchild  ;)

I really couldnt say.. there were about 6 rooms, all playing the same stuff, or what seemed to be the stuff.. plus some of the state of the girls in there 8O
I think i found the blokes at Trade more attractive than the girls at wildchild! ;)

Cant believe you spent all night in the middle of the main room Robder. We did consider walking through it at one point, but thought it might be detrimental for our health ;)

So when's the next one then, must get the date in the diary 8O

Friday - We went out for drinks for a friend's birthday, then Jon was going on about Lawler all night, I thought I might aswell go as we wont be clubbing for 6 months soon so we might as well make the most of it! We got in about 12am, it was a good night, stayed until the end though at 6am, back to ours for an afterparty, which carried on until about 2pm! Finally got into bed at about 3pm 8O

Saturday - had people round for a party on Sat night, which kind of flopped because me and Jon were knackered, it was nice just to stay in and have a few drinks though.

Sunday - Jon went and watched West Ham, I stayed at home and cooked us a lovely beef casserole yummmyyy then we watched a scary film and went to bed! :D

Feeling ok today, looking forward to a week off this weekend though!!

Thus - Out for Doms work party in a nice p[lace on Brentford Docks, lots of free Champagne, got very very drunk.

Fri - My hairdresser came round to do my hair and resulting in us cracking open the wine and feeling drunk again.
In the eve we wernt to the Electric proms Fat boy gig at the Lock Tavern, it was amazing and so intimate (about 80 people) Really nice crowd too, although I think most were Radio one staff.
Got to brush past Jon Carter too a few times and was tempted to give him a Babs groping and licking.

Sat - Out for lunch with my newly engaged friend, I'm going to be a bridesmaid for the 7th time! I must have that bridesmaid look. had a lovely pub lunch on wimbledon common.
Sat eve, out with Friends to the 5th floor restaurant (thanks for the tip Babs) OMG we got so drunk, I think they hated us. Went back to a friends, got back home at 7am.

Sun - Pub lunch with the in-laws in the Red lion.
Once again got nicely drunken.

I feel awful today.

That's what they did to us - put us on the prime table in the very centre of the restaurant so we were on full view of everyone

We tried to be well behaved for all of about 5 mins and then we just turned into 3 loud drunken mares

'Babe I want to go to the cinema tonight' 8O  I'd just finished reading The Devil wears Prada and it had made me laugh lots that I got the urge to see the film.

Babs - I watched this on Sat afternoon whilst phil was screaming at the PC listening to the match - I hated myself for being so shallow and enjoying the film I have to say       some of the outfits were fabulous and enjoyed them slightly more than the film - although I loved Meryl Streep -she was just brilliant in it in fact, I have been perfecting the "looking down my nose whilst lowering my sunglasses look" all weekend....

Morbyd - Darren Emmerson is playing some quality, dark stuff at the moment - he's really doing it for me (musically that is.....);) Went to see him a month or so back at Digital and I was rather impressed at his style it has to be said....

Trade sounded good!! being dying to hear some reports of how it went. What time did it finish up at? We were tempted but went to la Troya at Area instead and then stayed on for Ultra......I ended up leaving at 8.30am as I hadnt had one drink (or anything else!) :? all night. It was really good though......but I bet Trade was a lot better.

Got a call from Anthony at 10am as he was leaving Area to say he was on his way home....he then had to hang up as one of our friends who they had lost in the club....was standing in the middle of Vauxhall Cross touching his toes and basically fast asleep 8O .....he was lucky he wasnt killed. I had to get out of bed then and come and pick them up as he was in such a state that they couldnt get him home.
