weekend rundowns...

i normally don't write about my weekends too often but as this one has been quite an active one, i thought i'd share...

friday - finished working late afternoon and went to the gym...which was a good thing, but of course i was tired afterwards...
i only had realised this day that ellen allien and apparat are playing in my hometown that night and i really spontaneously went there, alone. but it was worth that i went! their 90mins live set was absolutely mindblowing!!! wow!!! 8O :D  they played old stuff like "sehnsucht", "stadtkind" and other well-known tunes as well as the new ones they produced together...have to think about getting their album (orchestra of bubbles)! definite thumbs up for ellen allien and apparat!!!

saturday - relaxed during the day. i knew erick morillo was playing in lausanne and i really wanted to go there cause i hadn't seen him for more than a year. but all my friens i had asked didn't want to go and natascha had to work :( . so i had the great idea to contact our forum member moha who's living in the french part of switzerland. after a few text messages everything was wel set up...early evening, i found myself driving down to lausanne (a bit more than an hour drive) where i met up with moha and friends. i was invited to my first cheese foundue of the "winter season" (we normally only eat fondue during wintertime, rarely in summer)!!! later, we went into town. thanks to moha, who really knows everyone there, we soon got into club MAD (the biggest one in lausanne) where we had some drinks and waited for morillo to arrive. unfortunately, it was absolutely jam-packed and when morillo turned up at 1am you barely couldn't move. so we got the first half hour of erick's set (which was very uplifting house) and then left...made the short walk to the next club, loft electroclub, where we got in superquick again. loft is much smaller, much more basic, in a way familiar and i felt comfy there. catched an hour of junction sm's set (which is dandy jack and sonia moonear playing live and dj) and then it was steve bug who took over. his set was minimal, but with a nice build-up and i really got into that!!!
at about 4am, we left loft again and went back to MAD for the last hour of morillo. when we got back in it luckily wasn't that packed anymore. erick was banging it out hard and fast at first, and then changed to the classics for the last few tunes...he closed with robin s' show me love and everyone was singing along. cool.
went back to moha's place for a cuppa hierbas and a café solo (well, some of the things we do in ibiza we also do at home ;) ) and then i drove back to berne...arrived at about 7:30am and soon went sleeping. moha, thanks again for the hospitality!!! it was a great night out and you're welcome whenever you're in bern!

sunday - got up at about 1am. went visiting a friend and together we went into town. enjoyed the good weather and sat on a sunny terrace for a few hours, drinking coffee and being sentimental about the summer who's definitely fading now.
went back to my friends place later, ate pasta and drank wine, watched tv. very relaxed sunday!
only got back now and going to bed now. so...have a good week everyone, i'm already looking forward to the next weekend where we will be hitting cocoon club in frankfurt again

Fri - still suffering from Thursday nights antics so I laid on the sofa being pathetic while Tom cooked for us, then had an early night, I'm getting too old for going out on school nights

Sat - Tom was at work in the day so I went shopping and to the hairdressers, then we headed out early to Plan B in Brixton for Rach's 30th birthday celebrations part 2 and met up with the usual crowd. Our original plan was to just drink and get the tube home, fastforward a few hours and I get it into my head that I've just got to go to Ministry, godknows where this 'brainwave' came from cos I don't even like Smokin Jo and her stupid Nude nights  Me, Tom and Jamie went to Ministry, don't really remember much about it all :? as all my remaining braincells were being used trying to keep me upright in silly big wedges :spank: Left Ministry and then have another brainwave of popping into Rach's, carried on there, eventually at midday Tom gets me into a headlock and gets me home cos we were meant to be out with his family in the afternoon. Got home, think an hours sleep will sort me out, woke up an hour later remembering why sleep is for losers and felt absolutely shocking as if I'd been run over by a double decker bus  Spent the rest of the day in bed unable to move

On the plus side tho managed to get thru all that with no cigarettes so every could has a silver lining and all that

oh dear, quite possibly one of the best weekends ever... 8O

Friday: Couple of drinks with work people and then back home to have supper and a nap before heading to catch James Zabiela playing at the Zodiac here in Oxford. Zabiela's set was absolutely unbelievable, I actually had a couple of the best clubbing moments I've ever had in there, completely fantastic. One of the best sets I've ever heard (although I do say that a lot    ). Taking us through all genres of music and the crowd at slide are brilliant, all of oxford's house music fans come together and it's just perfect. Loved it!

Saturday: Around lunchtim headed to london where I went to the new Saatchi show at the Royal Academy which was very good indeed, although annoyingly they don't give you any kind of guide to tell you what half the works mean so it's a bit of guess work and occasional sheer confusion (a rack of cheap birkenstocks with their prices still on anyone?). Most disturbing piece: cut out of newspaper articles with crimes by police documented sprayed with the artists semen. Lovely!

Then in the evening went for pre-ministry shenanigans at robders which steadily got worse and worse and eventually we rocked up at ministry at 1 with half our friends standing outside in the cold waiting patiently.. :? :spank:

Ministry was fantastic, was a very strange experience with all the shoreditch types and tech-house dominating which I didn't think the ministry crowd entirely 'got' but it worked in a way and the tranny performances were just brilliant 8) - favourite one was when they all came on stage and had a huge pillow fight resulting in the air full of feathers and ministry coated with them.  . I love trannies

The got dragged to the toilet by jamie which was actually better than ministry  - I absolutely adore Kubicle afterhours there, brilliant crowd, brilliant music (M.A.N.D.Y was excellent). Stayed until about lunchtime when headed to the pub with Smokin Jo's and Terry Hart's posse (eek clubbing celebrities   ) before deciding I really really really needed to get back to Oxford if I was going to survive today 8O

I love weekends :D

Friday - T Bar

Saturday - Nude Nude Nude Nude Nude!!! Oh and Nude! I can't stop banging on about this place...I actually had a good night at the Ministry! 8O Yes, that God awful place that I've been moaning about for the past six months.
I don't understand how they've achieved it but they've actually got all of Shoreditch to get the bus out of E1! 8O8O8O
The crowd was undoubtedly the best I've ever seen at the Misery and Johnny Woo rocks. London would be a dull place without him.
I have memories of him stood at the side of the catwalk covered in blood soaked bandages shouting, "WORK IT MAMA" whilst carrying a baby. Another funny moment, Terry and Johnny stood at the side hollering, "GIVE THEM POPPERS" and parading the performers in front of everyone while they nearly passed out.
It's the bestest thing I've seen in London in years - the production was on a par with torture garden...def the rebirth of the Ministry. It's the best night I've ever had in there anyway - blinding. Time to invest in a pair of high heels and a corset methinks. ;)
...Mazzy Supastar and Smokin Jo were great too. 8) Hardly reconised the place - sooo much better than the w@nky 15th birthday.

Sunday - went to Islington, got drunk and died.

Thursday - After work went to a great performance by an Icelandic jazz band called the Tomas Einarsson quintet at a Cuban bar/club.

Friday - Went home after work and watched Lost and the Daily Show while the missus was getting ready. We went to rooftop club Krysha but they were closed :( So then we went to this underground club called Gazgolder and had an absolutely fantastic time. Went home quite early (around 4:30).

Saturday - Got up, cleaned the kitchen, and made my first ever roast duck :D Turned out delicious. Then we went to the sports bar to watch Chelsea lose two goalkeepers in one game  but a win is a win. Afterwards, I went to meet some friends at a jazz club to catch part of the 2nd and final Moscow appearance by that Icelandic jazz quintet. After the concert, got some unpleasant work-related phone calls and spent an hour on the phone after midnight  but at the same time made my way over to club Gaudi Arena to see David Guetta and Marco V.

Gaudi was way overpacked (must have been 3 or 4 thousand people in there) which was grating on my already frazzled nerves. Eventually I settled in as Guetta played set that began a bit lame with too many 'hits' (though he did some interesting mash-ups) but ended with a flourish of solid deeper house. Marco V started out playing some great progressive house but turned thump-thump trancey around 5:30 so I headed home to see off the missus who was on a morning flight to London.

Sunday - Big all-day lie-in. Barely moved from the sofa except to make dinner. Very relaxing 8)

On the plus side tho managed to get thru all that with no cigarettes so every could has a silver lining and all that

Well done! I had to have a crafty ciggie on the way to work but now my hair stinks - must chuck the rest of the packet away!

Pretty boring weekend for me really. Went out in Birmingham with THE MOST BORING girl ever!! She kept coughing and moaning about the smoke the whole time then said she had to go home at 1! as she didn't have her inhaler!

Sun traveling back from Birm!

OH no Sarah. I was worried that you would not make it when we left you.

Friday stayed in and relaxed, made everyone watch Texas Chain saw massacure, great origianal horror

saturday watched a few games on sky then headed over to Rach's for her birthday celebrations. Rach's flat was lovely decorated in true birthday style. After a few nibbles and a piece of cake we headed to Brixton for a quick drink before heading to Plan B.
Great night place for a little dance and for catching up with mates

Then back to Rach for a few more drinks.

Sunday watched football and eat and massive roast.:)

OH no Sarah. I was worried that you would not make it when we left you.

  In hindsight it was probably a good thing I didn't make it - can you imagine me rolling up to meet Tom's family dressed in the same clothes as the night before, carrying my shoes and with my big wild woman 'fro 8O

My weekend was pretty much the same. Night in on Friday, had some nice food and watched Texas Chainsaw Massacre (which was crap  ).

Saturday mooched around all day, then headed over to Rachels for the pre-party (with great snacks! :D ). Got p1ssed there then got to Plan B for about 9pm. Had lots of fun in there minxing about. As always the night seemed to go REALLY quickly, it was 4am before we knew it, then we went back to Rachels for the afterparty. Finally left there at about 11am, got home just about in one piece, then spend yesterday vegging out and eating a roast!

Fri - One of my best mates is off to Kenya to work in a village for 4months so went for his leaving do. He is the only guy who could turn up for his own leaving do 2 hours late hence his nickname as "the longest man in the world".

Went for dinner around Bond Street somewhere which was pretty nice. Then went to a few bars and ended up at a poncey west end club called Kabaret off Carnaby Street.

Sat- Went to my mate Tim's bday drinks in Angel. Was a good turnout and saw a lot of old school mates hvent seen in a while. Was having a great time until I realised some pikey had stolen my bag  . Had a check paybale to me for £500, my glasses, sunglassed and a Jumper so wasnt best pleased!. Actually put me in a foul mood. Eventually a few of us decided to go to the End to catch Laurent Garnier....who was quality all night. Dropped a few classics which had the place going crazy. Got home at 10am via breakfast at my favourite place in Farringdon...Tinseltown...Nothing like a Cajun chicken wrap and a thick strawberry milkshake with bits of KitKat swirled in at 8am:p

Sunday - Bummed around, watched tv and read some of my book

I hate Mondays

Thurs - Plan was to have a nice birthday meal for Kaz at her mums and stay over. Kaz got ill (flu thing) during the day so by the time we got to her mums for dinner shes got a high temprature. After some food she decides she has to go to bed so we continue the birthday meal without her :? and I have her share of all the alcohol:oops:

Fri - Kaz calls work and is off sick. I have meetings in Glasgow so away for a few hours and then back to see the patient. Had friends round in the evening and we consume silly amounts of wine and then Kaz is somehow feeling a lot better  . I got really drunk and think I may have offended a friend by telling her to have a makeover :?  I had to go to my bed when the rooms was spinning out of control

Sat - woke up feeling a little ropey and soon got the hangover depression:roll: . Spent the afternoon doing a little shopping and bought lots of good food from M&S. In the evening had a few pre club drinks with Kaz' sister before heading to Afterdark/Kink. Had a good night even though the music was nothing special. Crowd was quite young and quite trashed  , seen some casualties being escorted out of the club via the garden terrace:lol:

Sun - after 4 hours sleep go out for Sunday lunch and we are all looking pale and grey and very tired. So go back home go to bed watch TV and eat chocolate 8)
