Fri - Tom cooked nice dinner for us and few glasses of wine

Sat - went shopping and picked up a few new winter purchases, at night we went out for dinner in Chiswick and then I 'allowed' Tom to watch a DVD  And I watched it too 8O Managed to sit still and be quiet for 2 hours and watched Hotel Rwanda - so moving and harrowing  Then just as we were contemplating bed we get phone call from Tom's brother and his wife who were in the area and had been out for wedding anniversary meal, they ended up popping round and things got messy - all plans for a quiet night out the window

Sun - had to take our poor little baby Lottie to the vets cos she'd started limping a couple of days ago. We thought she might have got something in it in the park but the vet examined it and couldn't see anything and said it looks like she's picked up an infection and the poor little thing had to have 2 injections  Rest of the day spoilt the little ones :D

Friday: Opening party at 52 8O   Lots of old faces, Pep prepared me a surprise and appeared with my little brother :D and all went as expected: far too many drinks and smokes and ended leaving about 5 8O
Saturday: Food shopping and sofa the rest of the day
Sunday: watched Basketball final 8) cooked a yummy paella for a couple of friends and spent the afternoon crying cos my hols are over

Why was 52 having an Opening Party Sil?? Does it shut for the summer??

Business trip to Siberia and the Urals region. flew out on a Friday-night red-eye. Returned last night.

2 days, 3 flights, 4 factories.

Fascinating stuff if you like seeing how large industrial enterprises work, which I do. Still, basically a lost weekend.

Really lovely weekend! Woke up in a stinker of a mood this morning though - I'm not very good on not much sleep.

Friday - Charlotte Church on channel 4 which was surprisingly funny (8O:lol:) followed by trailer trash @ on the rocks. They had a Bugged Out resident playing so was loads of fun.

Saturday - Met a friend for a drink in Soho and things spiralled out of control :?. Eventually fell into the bunker for food and couldn't be bothered to go anywhere so popped out locally with the Pilchard. SO glad we did because we found Charlies Bar!!! 8O
It's a small east end gayer hangout with a nice community feel and people of all ages. They've made a real effort with all the Moroccan/Turkish decor which makes it quite posh by east end standards. 8O
Made friends with Rita the drag host and played Blankety Blank! 8O:lol:
AND WON! Saturday nights are now all about Blankety Blank at Charlies bar. It's so nice having a naff local to fall into...all the other pubs by the bunker are either rough as hell or full of yummy mummies.:lol:

Sunday - Roast at Charlies bar  followed by the Almadovar flick in Soho - which was such an amazing film. I'm going to collect all his films now.
Afterwards went to Hoxton bar and Kitchen for Boombox - and it's sooo good to see Shoreditch back on form again! The place gets so serious and posey sometimes and loses its silly edge (dig aimed at SecretSundaze as much as I love the place). Boombox really fills that gap...London's friendliest, freakiest and best crowd for sure.
Definately one to try. Not good for Monday mornings though - urgh.

I stayed in and I vowed to myself, to never, do that again

Sunday went on a bike ride around London, followed by a few drinks at our local.

Fri: went to mark sun's new night at turnmills.

T2 rocked to the soundz of dale and tim. T2 went mad to the soundz of Anil and Mark.Really good night. awesome music. great fun.

I said early on that i really needed to leave at a reasonable hour but ended up still there at 6am as mark played his last tune.

Sun: went to Regent Street for the Spanish Festival. the whole street was closed off for horse displays, folk dancing and free food and drink. In the sunshine:)

Is that The Volver?? Really keen to see that film, I think Penelope Cruz is brilliant when she teams up with Almodovar.
Might have to get Babs to watch it too seeing as she's a film buff now ;)

Fri: Decided to go out even though i had a very bad throat. Fantastic opening night from the Quartech boys in T2 at The Gallery.
Hats off to everyone but Anil and Mark Sun specially. Top tunes that kept the dancefloor rocking til the very end. Also managed to catch a little trance set from Lange  He played all his classics, (Lost Witness-Happines happening, The Morrigan, I Believe) Bit of a trance flashback from my early years 8)

Cracked on to Meet in Farringdon for a strange afterparty full of trannies and drag queens. Went to Fire only to find it was shut, as was Factory. ended up drinking in a dodgy pub in Vauxhal.

Off home for a change of clothes then straight on to Ministry of Sound. Great set from Seamus Haji. I really like his sound, its sort of soulful house with an electro and dirty edge to it. His Big Love compilation is very good too.

Got back home in time to see the basketball final 8)

 I didn't know if you were being serious when you texted saying you were going to Ministry 8O  You've no excuse for getting out of aftershows now  ;)

I'm a fan of Seamus as well. He's been out here a couple of times over the past year or so. He's due in town again within the next couple weeks :D

Fri

Sven Vath @ Pressure - met up with friends in town and straight to the Arches. Only 1 half of Slam were there but it was a terrific set. Sven actually came on early and delivered a cracking set. Played from just after 12 to 3:15 and loved every minute of it. Met Stu Hirst in there on his farewell tour of Glasgow :)

Sat

Watched Scotland destroy the Faroes. Headed into Glasgow for dinner with the in-laws and then the 4 of us went to Rocco Deluca & The Burden @ King Tuts. Absolutely intense show from them, loved it.

Sun

Embarrased myself at the works golf outing with the worst display possible

There was another particular reason for this sudden urge to crack on though, will email you ;)

By the way, I picked up the flyers for Ministry's 15th bday. Its a little booklet with a few pictures from the past 15 years.. no shock to find a picture of the Box with babs with her hands in the air then
