Weekend Rundowns

Tell me about it, I feel like I'm on a life-support machine at the mo :?

I thought X Central was really badly organised this year, first year I went there was loads of portaloos, set-times were everywhere, loads of stalls selling drinks etc but this year they just seemed like they opened the whole of Kings X up but had no organisation about it all  I've been to Canvas (Bagleys) so many times and it took us about 4 goes to end up in the right room

I thought the portaloos were behind the bushes
I have a massive cold today, I JUST WANT TO GO TO BED

I won't even tell you where I thought the toilets were  Wee tricks central

I've got a cold and sore throat, I think it's spending time outside in the rain, then going into hot sweaty rooms, I'm not getting out my pjs today

sat - went to the game, we beat west ham 2-1:) 8)
sun- travelled to london. drinks in the big chill, the best part about it being the various little nooks and crannies within8) . met old friends and had a chinwag before going to X Central about 8pmish.

ponced about near the secretsundaze tent for a while and then had a similar "wandering aimlessly, this is a bit pants:roll: " experience as barbie and sirens, before taking up my spot for the man like.

Booka shade played their track off the Sasha album and by the time the man like arrived it was already hotting up, literally! Sasha was simply awesome, in years of following him and listening to him, he matched and perhaps even surpassed some of my more memorable encounters with him "back in the day". Breathtaking!:D :D :D 8) 8) 8) including about 3 or 4 proper 'Sasha moments'.............brilliant, can't find the words, etc, etc.8) 8) didn't miss a second of his set, except for a 60 second interlude with someone from security. 8O   Hands in the air for approx 3 hours!! 8) 8)

went back to ferd's and collapsed.

mon - dragged ferd to carnival ;) and had some good good times eating jerk chicken, drinking red stripe and dancing at sancho panza.

tue- home feeling very emotional, missing my family. Played Sasha's avalon again and reminisced, dancing around the kitchen for about 45 minutes.

Nice to finally meet/see again some familiar names off here during the wknd: sarah (and TMT), sirens, ferd, holly g, zarbtron, russ, robbie G, BBS, jinja, kang, robder, pilchard, robo (sorry............if i've missed anyone! :?)

So.... when you had your hands in the air, were you shouting "Al-ex-an-der! Al-ex-an-der!"

Thank you Ferd for the drinks, I am not sure if I asked for them or not but I remember drinking quite a few
In my limited experience with Ferd, you don't usually have to ask before he shows up with drinks
(he's a good sport if you turn them down though ;))

hahaha - funny you say that, he didn't even offer us drinks and before he says anything he comes over and brought us 2 double vodka and lemonades.

the funny thing was those drinks were supposed to be for someone else, but he'd vanished (ahem ;) ) so i was left with loads of shots and no one to drink them with

I just remember the 2nd time we met when I was already way far gone in Turnmills and you tried to get me to do a shot. I politely refused, thinking "there's no way that'd stay down long" 8O  I see now that you are a serial shot pusher!

really:o, my memory was of ferd buying everyone else a shot except you. ;)

 Good to meet Damo and Sirens (i see you lika Zambuka too ;) ) and to see all the usuals8)

likewise buddy :)

I had my dancing shoes on at the time but i managed to drag myself off the dancefloor for a fellow spotlighter! I had to keep it brief though because my feet were wanting to get back to it. Its a shame we didnt get the chance to see sasha. As robo said, we were really put off by the volume of people in there. Did it thin out a bit towards the end?

Ha ha... that's 'cause I was in the wc, but a shot was shoved in my face upon return!

Shame on you for not coming down on Saturday, by the way!

Saturday at SW4 was brill - just loads of fun. Caught the end of Masiello who was great (wish they'd put him on later as they didn't even seem to open the gates until after he'd started). Steve Lawler was also really good and enjoyed Tongy at the end. Went to the Windmill for a drink, then got dragged to Artesian Wells for a few hours, then collapsed in bed with the world's worst poppers headache.

Up and out to a mates house at lunchtime as it was his birthday. Bit of a bbq and rather too many pre-club wines round there then we got a cab up to Cross Central quite early as some of us didn't have tickets. As others have said, the music was quite samey in all the rooms and nothing particularly inspired me although we enjoyed that upstairs terrace bit near the beginning (no idea where that was or who was playing  ). Pushed our way into a packed sweaty room for Sasha, which I was really enjoying until I err fainted with the excitement of it all and it was the end of the night for me. Went back to Ealing and met the doggies who are soooo cute. Must have passed out (again  ) at some point as woke up at 7pm Monday, having missed Carnival, oops.

Got home eventually and watched the end of Love Island - was pleased Bianca won it. Had the day off yesterday and just lay on the sofa watching telly as wasn't capable of movement.

Errr no cos Grego isn't a stupid Yank   ;) ]

As Grego said from stalking Sasha 'back in the day' his set @ Canvas was up there back with his all-time great sets :D

I thought I did introduce you, we were all dancing by Sancho Panzo but then again I wasnn't really up to conversation   ;)

I might have had my Northern Monkey radar on... it doesn't let any Northerners within 10yards of me ;)
