Weekend Rundowns

We spent the whole weekend being ill.
Caught a stomach bug from our nephew and did nothing but throw up all Fr/Sat/Sun.
Felt better yesterday so went to a friends house warming followed by dinner in Wimbledon last night.

I feel quite bitter. ;)

Friday: Nice dinner in Soho with some friends who were heading off to Fiction. Resisted all temptations to join them and was home in bed by midnight.

Saturday: Up early for a run and then drinks at home from midday before heading off to SW4. After being told we were on the guest list and queuing in guest list queue, discovered we were not on the guest list so had to use our tickets instead. Enjoyed SW4 but it was a little strange. Never really got past the front gate and spent most of the day around there chatting to various friends. For a music festival I hardly heard any music all day. by chance saw the shapeshifter in one of the tents who were not very good. Then spent about an hour in the Heat tent before that rain shower at 8pm and decided to head home at that stage. Carried on back at ours. Party went on until 4am but something strange happend to me and I had to be put to bed at midnight! 8O 8O 8O

Sunday: Spent most of the day at home recovering for Sunday night. Had a few drinks at home and then headed to the Fridge in Brixton for Orange at 12.30am. Was pretty empty which was not usual and because it was so empty it was freezing. There was also no atmosphere. Left there around 5am to find friends car had been broken into....but nothing taken. Proceeded to call the police and insurance company in a bit of a state.8O  ...which was interesting. Quick trip back to friends in Pimlico and then walked over the bridge to Orange at Fire. Got in there around 6.30am and you could not move in the place....it was also really really hot. Didnt think I would want to stay long as I dont like it when its like that.....but found a decent enough place to dance and ended up staying until 11.30am......lots and lots of 8O 8O moments.

Monday: Got home around midday and stayed up for a while having a few drinks......got to bed by 6pm and slept right through until this morning.

Absolutely nothing, nada, zilch - been off work since last Wed with trapped nerves and muscle spasms in my shoulder and neck- cant sit, cant lie, can only stand and walk without being in agony.... back at work today after 2 emergency physio appointments - 8 more to go and cannot wait til I stop hurting. Painkillers are too strong and just make me sleep, not bad, except waking up, the pain is still (or was) still there..... basically spent 6 days in agony, p***ed off and in a strop...

I will never ever take the mickey out of people with "bad backs" again.....

Friday
Dinner in Soho, nice civilised walk home to our lovely new london pad.

Sat
Relaxed as other half went off to the Spurs match, then prepared self and lovely new london pad for night out / in. Had warm up drinks with everyone, then out to amazing party in Clapham till 7am. Then back to ours for unofficial flatwarming, where we carried on partying until 2pm. God knows what the neighbours / fish made of our trashed pals, and playing MANDY Body Language at 120% volume at 9 in the am

Sun (cont...) woke up and wondered what had happened to our lovely new london pad.
Got chinese. Watched telly. Avoided eye contact with neighbours.

Mon
Chilled out aka worked from home...

hello mitsi and congratulations on your first weekend rundown post 8) :D

Weekend wasnt too diff to a lot of peoples it seems

Fri...was planning a couple of quiet drinks after work which ended in me getting severley smashed by around, meeting some old school mates and having a dirty chinese in china town before getting home and waking my whole house up to Marshall Jefferson "Move your body" around 2ish. Was planning a quiet night in watching a movie so not quite what I had planned

Sat....headed down to Clapham for SW4. Took me ages because the Picadilly line was f**cked. Got there for a bout 3ish and met my irate lookin mates. They love me really! Had a great day! Ate way too much dodgy food though although the crepes were amazing! My favourite set personally was Smokin Jos in the Ibiza Voice tent. Enjoyed the first half hr of Tall Pauls set although was expecting Mr C to be better than he was. Met a couple of girls from my uni days who I def didnt have down as clubbers, which was a suprise. Raved in the rain during Carl Cox and got completely filthy.

Never been to Clapham before so mates took me on a little whistle stop tour of the bars. Left around 12ish to go home

Sun...TDK. Got there around 1030ish. Overall would give the night 6 out of ten. Thought Secret Sundaze was the best overall but was too packed to move, especially when it started raining. Thought Booka Shade was AMAZING. Shame it was only a 45min set and also thought Sasha was wicked! The dissapointing aspect was until Booka Shade, we (and it seemed a hell of a lot of other people) spent there time walking in between rooms and there was never a real party atmosphere about the event. Just lacked a certain spark. Also personally felt that circoloco is best left to DC-10. In the cross although the tunes were good and I did enjoy myself, without the cirocloco name it could have been any minimal / techy type night.

Overall have had some great nights at the cross and dont think this was as good just because it was sooo crowded.

Mon....Headed down to carnival around 3ish. Checked it out and then all went down to bar where mate works in Ladbroke Grove. After a few drinks I was feelin so drowsy I kind of spent the afternoon slumped in a corner and its fair to say I wasnt the most interesting company

As I was only stopping over in London for one day for SW4, I'd taken only one pair of jeans with me (checked all other baggage through to Moscow). I had to fly home on Sunday with a ring of dirt around the bottom cuffs after that Carl Cox torrential rain finale

Squelchy! I had a kip at robo's after x central and woke up to beaming sunshine. I saw my chance to dry off my clothes before i went home so i threw my stuff outside and went back to sitting in front of the tv. A couple of hours later rob shouted down stairs 'you do know its raining?'... This was soon followed by me running outside half naked tracking down my jeans and shoes! I went home a little later looking like i'd spent the night in a badly built shed.

Fri - had a lovely dinner in a small bistro in Glasgow for my father-in-laws birthday

Sat - did very little all day, then the group gathered at our flat and headed to the new club Karbon in Glasgow

its basically the old Mas club line-up with a new venue. Quite a nice place, was mega busy. Bit too commercial house music for my taste but a good laugh cos we know the djs now.

The best thing was that they had no license yet so the drinks (although only a limited range) were free all night!!!!

8O:):):)

Sun - a round of golf and then chill the rest of the day before a return to hell on monday

Friday - still battling my cold, went out for a nice curry with friends to celebrate someone's birthday. That twonk Kenzie from Blazin Squad was on the table next to us, his jerkoff mates kept trying to wind us up all night. How sad  They couldn't even go out for a meal without causing aggro. We just ignored them as best we could and tried to enjoy our meal :x

Saturday - Overslept by 2hrs  so missed the main pub meetup before SW4. Made it down to Clapham by 12pm, jumped in the queue with some friends and managed to get in before everyone else
SW4 was realllyy good IMO. Lots of brilliant sets from DJ's such as Lawler, Oakie, Matt Hardwick, Desyn Masiello :p Had a great time minxing around Clapham Common. The weather was really good all day, apart from at 8pm, when we were watching Carl Cox - the heavens decided to open and rain poured down on us 8O  Me, Jon, Babs and Tom decided to leave as we couldn't see it stopping. Had a very surreal hour spent trying to get a cab  For some reason we thought it would be a good idea to walk through Clapham trying to find a cab. When we found none we jumped on the tube, and proceeded to get off at almost every tube stop searching for a cab; Clapham North, Oval, Kennington etc  In our funked state we didnt actually realise that it would have taken much less time to just carry on the tube all the way home (which we eventually did  ).
Carried on round Babs' and met their lovely new additions (the cutest dogs ever!) then went to bed at about 3am and had a nice long sleep.

Sunday - Stayed in Ealing for the day, out for a pub lunch and a few spritzers followed by an afternoon siesta ;) Resisted all temptations to join the others at Cross Central, me and Jon left them at about 8pm, carried on the tube to Jon's got a Chinese on the way home and was in bed at 11pm... lovely :D

Monday - woke up after a marathon 12hr sleep, heard bad reports abotu Cross Central so was releived we didn't waste our time/money/health on that! Done some shopping then headed down to notting Hill for some carnival action. Had a fun day at Sancho Panza, left everyone else to meet some friends at about 5pm, spent some time at the scariest Grime stage ever! saw a few people get mugged - not nice :x Left at 7pm, met up with Jon then had another early night :p

Feeling nice and refreshed now! Ready for a 3week detox before Ibiza :D

Are you Barbie in disguise?

Sunday headed off to xcentral. Had a good night there. Agree that the music was all very samey APART from that need to sould room, i didn't spend that much time in there but what time i did was enjoyable. Caught about 15 mins of booka shade who were excellent but it was too crowded and dangerous to stay in there so esacped to the terrace, stayed there for a bit then finished the night off by dancing in the secretsundaze tent in pool of water. 8O

Great to see sarah and tom, ferd, grego, dan x etc

Monday - got up and headed to carnival. Plan was to get there and head for the good times stage, but we sorta went the wrong way and ended up walking down ladbroke grove, up portobello road, and round kensal road. Nevermind - next year we'll be more organised.

Was good though - first time we went to carnival - it was very busy and very loud.

Roll on ibiza in 2 and a bit weeks.

Lovely to see you and your little ladieeee too :D Shame we missed you at Carnival, probably my fault for giving Rachel such rubbish directions

As you say, roll on Ibiza :D

Yep it's all being knocked down for new Eurostar station - can't come soon enough for me

 Are you going to hand in you Type membership then..?? ;)

Sat: SW4 was fantastic. Lawler and Seb fontaine absolutely rocked the Essential London tent. Desyn and Cox also played blinders and dancing outside as it started to piss down was a very touching moment strangely enough. Great to meet Utugara too 8) . She's dacing somewhere in Ibiza now im sure!!

Sun: I had a great time at TDK. I more or less knew that the music wasnt going to be my thing as I dont like minimal that much, but I thought the atmosphere was pretty nice through out, and it was nice to see Canvas , The Cross and the whole area united as one big festival thing. However it was Sasha that stole the show. He was outstanding, without doubt qualifies as best set of the year for me. Tune after tune, and exploding moment after exploding moment. I was speechless after his set for about 2 hours! Normally by 6 o'clock (and specially after 2 days caning) im secrectly hoping the dj's plays his final tune.. not on sunday though. 10/10 to Sasha.
Good to meet Damo and Sirens (i see you lika Zambuka too ;) ) and to see all the usuals8)
I might go next year if someone like Sasha plays again, but if they keep it all minimal i'll give it a miss.

Mon: Managed to drag grego off to Carnival and had a great time on Sancho Panza's tent. Saw even more of the usuals again ;) . Thanks for a great monday

Tue: Died

Still not feeling very well  X Central was good, although I found myself wandering around trying to find lost friend's or trying to decide which venue to go to
Lovely but strange to see Zarbtron, Ferd, Grego and very briefly Robder 8)
Thank you Ferd for the drinks, I am not sure if I asked for them or not but I remember drinking quite a few

Tell me about it, I feel like I'm on a life-support machine at the mo :?

I thought X Central was really badly organised this year, first year I went there was loads of portaloos, set-times were everywhere, loads of stalls selling drinks etc but this year they just seemed like they opened the whole of Kings X up but had no organisation about it all  I've been to Canvas (Bagleys) so many times and it took us about 4 goes to end up in the right room
