Weekend Rundowns

Relaxing late on a Sunday night... thought I'd get the ball rolling....

Friday - Bachelor party for a fellow expatriate friend. Began with a Russian-style banquet dinner and continued through 2 seedy bars (one of which had to be quickly abandoned when the bride-to-be showed up 8O Concidence? I think not!). Home just a little after dawn...

Saturday - Afternoon spent chilling before I finally began editing my film from Ibiza. Nice dinner out with the missus at a posh seafood restaurant and then drinks at a very lively cocktail bar with DJ. Afterwards, over to Fabrique to see DJs Thomas Gold & Chris Ortega (hadn't heard of them before but they were quite good, actually). Left there at dawn for the usual carry-on at Mix but only lasted about 3 hours before I had to crash.

Sunday - Up late afternoon. Over to the sports bar to watch some football. Then grocery shopping. Then I watched the movie Deliverance 8O 8O

Friday - Going away BBQ for my friend before he goes off to Cali for school/football. Then off to the bars in Boulder to see a friend from high school who now does fashion design in New York.

Sat - Slept in late to try to cure my hangover from the previous night. Then dinner with my parents to see my dad for the first time in 3 months (he works in Florida). Then went to World Trade Center with my gf (it is intense, hard to watch as I still clearly remember the day it happened)

Sun - Going out to sit by my pool for a bit, then I am going to a sports bar to watch sunday night preseason football.

Fri - met Jon and Ferd for a few post-work drinkies as we're all working neighbours at the mo, managed to stay fairly civilised and got home without Ferd getting me on the shots

Sat - Tom had been to see our 2 dogs again last night and on the way to work he dropped me off at the ladies house to see them again, took them for a walk with the intention of Tom picking them up after work or us going over on Sunday to collect them. The lady then says to me 'if you'd like to take them now my husband will drive you home so you can spend the day with them' :D :D :D So I had the most fab day playing with my 2 new babies :D They're just so adorable and such little characters. At one point I went for a bath, came out and walked into our bedroom and they've both sneaked up stairs and are sat on our bed with the cutest look on their faces  Took them for a long walk in the park in the afternoon - everyone treats you differently when you've got a dog - people say hello and stop and talk to you and you feel like a grown-up member of the community  Tom came home from work with lots of treats for them (they're going to be such spoilt dogs  ) After putting them to sleep for the night we headed out to meet Ferd and co for drinks in Kings X and then headed to The Cross early to find to my annoyment that Carter had been relegated to Room 2 (but then I remembered how good Room 2 is for stalking  ) Met up with Rach and co, they all went to see Seb but I assumed stalking duties and basically if I'd got much closer to Carter I would have been in his pants  Carter was excellent and I didn't stop dancing all night :D Lots of OOC behaviour and then finished the night off in the main room (not sure who was playing, some young pup who was really good). Then cos of our new responsibilities as parents we shunned all aftershow antics and came home, took the dogs for a long early morning walk. Then spent the day on the wine and taking the dogs out :D

Dogs and Carter - what more do you want in a weekend :D

Fri: Few drinks at home, booked flights and hotel for Space closing :D

Sat: Work in the am, then just chilled out all day/evening at home. We seem to have picked up a cold whilst in Ibiza (as one does!).

Sun: Up late'ish, then went to look at some AMAZING city centre apartments. A fantastic conversion of a very old school, which incorporates a boutique hotel, gym, tuscan style square with restaurants/bars. Not looking to move, but a superb investment opportunity. Then went to do a HUGE food shop as the cupboards were bare! More chilling.

Bit dull, but who feels like doing much in this dismal weather! Have i slept too long and woke up in October?

:?

I've had a quiet weekend! 8O 8O 8O 8O 8O 8O 8O 8O 8O 8O 8O 8O 8O

Highlight - discovering 'Coffee cake and kink' in Covent Garden. Fantastic place to relax on a Saturday afternoon. 8)

Also - went to the cinema last night! 8O
Babs - nearly put out a distress call but didn't want to worry you because you've got your hands full with little Danny's comeback tour of Ealing.
I spent the first half fidgeting in panic attack mode and the second half asleep.
Miami Vice = over rated cliched 80s pap. Not even good for nostalgia purposes - it's just 'average'. Never trusting a time out film review again.
Cinemas are very scary places.

 Does this mean you're going to be even more minxy this week seeing as you haven't had time to deminx yourself at the wkend 8O

Sounds like me in a cinema - I literally start panicing and hiperventilating at the thought of going to one, then I normally nod off about the first 20 mins

massive weekend in zurich. streetparade, afterparties and afterhours...gonna post a report in the streetparade-thread soon.

Friday late pm drove to the caravan in wales so i was at one with the fields and cows and sheep until we returned home yesterday morning, then done some food shopping and lay on the sofa for the rest of the day watching the tv movies.

Nice chilled weekend.

Friday: Had a lovely moroccan tapas style dinner with a few friends at one of my favourite oxford restaurants. Got very drunk indeed and headed home to have a smoking session with one of my old housemates who'd returned to oxford for the weekend.

Saturday: Up late, extremely hungover. Dragged myself out of bed and headed to london late afternoon with my friend laura. Went to my friend's birthday gathering in Kew Gardens (how bloody far away is that???) where he has the nicest house I think I've ever seen 8O

At one point we all headed off to the pub and I saw more celebrities in there than I'd ever seen before in my life in one place 8O  - Ant and Dec, Marguereta Taylor, Jenny Falconer and some other GMTV types. Ant and Dec surprisingly (:?: ) tiny and unattractive

Then decided that rather than sit in a garage smoking weed and eating pizza i#d rather go to the key to see steve bug. Which was an excellent plan. Was very pleased to see some of my friends there that I'd spent most of friday trying to convince it would be a good idea to go

Steve Bug was ok, a very varied set (hard techno would change to deep house in a couple of minutes :? ) which didn't really keep the dance floor rocking throughout his set. But the DJ afterward (Kos) was brilliant, a nice dirty tech-house set and the place absolutely went crazy at all the right moments

Downside of The Key was seeing a huge fight where 2 blokes were kicking the **** out of another bloke and a lady ready to bottle my friend who was trying to break them up :x . Not nice - they had horrible looks on their faces as they did it.

After the key tried to drag my friends to Zombies ate my brain but because it was hard enough getting them out of the gay scene to come to the key they decided they wanted to go to fire. So I went there and left after they played pump up the jam for the second time in an hour 8O 8O   :x

Had 4 hrs sleep in london then back home to oxford for a fish and chip supper and a final goodbye to my housemates moving out this weekend (I move out on thursday - bye bye house! )

Overall a good weekend and I feel surprisingly healthy today :D

spent the whole wknd cleaning and tidying and reminiscing and getting emotional and dancing and smiling, listening to Radio 1's coverage from mambo, which was excellent. i need to live there now..........!!!!!!!  8) 8) 8) :D :D :D :D

Was Penny there? I love Penny! 8O

If she was I think I might go to Kew Gardens this weekend for a drink just in case. 8O

no penny wasn't there I'm afraid  it was more of a "young" crowd

but margherita taylor! I LOVE her!

Look at her!

doesn't she just look like the nicest lady in the world?

(I should have kidnapped her really shouldn't I? She'd go great in my living room, making tea for guests)

I'm completely crazy about Penny - I don't even call it GMTV any more, I just race to the telly in the mornings screeching, "Oooh better put Penny on!" and almost cry real tears on the days when she doesn't sit on the couch.

I'd secretly quite like her autograph. Can you get it for me? 8O

I don't think I've ever watched GMTV :?

I think it might be ant and dec's local pub, not sure about the others as it looked like they were at a private party there in the garden but they came in when it got too cold. We can go and stalk them next weekend if you want (but you better take your piercings out, Kew is a nice area don't you know  )

They live in Chiswick which is just down the road.

I cannot abide GMTV if I see it in a morning I want to smash the screen and their faces in

It wasnt the Barcelona v New York game was it, the one when Barcelona beat them 4-1?? Oh, that was saturday, just thought id mention it ;) :p
Morbyd, looks like your Chelsea season is falling appart and youve not even started yet ;)

Friday went for drinks after work with Lynch and barbie. I had a panic moment as my clubbing circle of friends were very close to my work friends, and thats something I always feel strange about, i like to keep both worlds apart, still it was ok.

Saturday was brilliant. I think the winter-like temperatures kept some clubbers at home so The Cross wasnt too rammed. Seb and Carter were on top form, and the DJ in the main room at the end was good too, I think it was that Cedric Gervais, the Space miami resident.

Went to the Key for the afterparty, thought about looking for Sirens outside, but then realised I dont know what she looks like

feel rough today.

Attempt at provocation? :spank:

It was a poor performance by everyone except Sheva and Essien. Liverpool were deserved winners and, honestly, look really good right now. Perhaps even the team to beat this season :!:

There's 40 weeks to go, though, so I wouldn't worry just yet ;)
